I'm really glad my last name is not Ago.

Went to HS with a girl named Sandy Beach. Her brother was named Rocky Beach. These are their given names as shown on their birth certificates.

Years ago I knew a guy named Russell Bridges. Naturally he went by Rusty.

I was an NCO in the Air Force, So I was called several different names. I worked with an flight officer names Catastrophe, He got promoted to Major. Now how would you like to fly with a pilot with a name like Major Catastrophe.

Some years back our next door neighbor's last name was Head. The Heads were over at our place one Saturday for beer and burgers. He said that if he had a son he was going to name him Richard. His wife leaned over and said that if he did that to her son she would kill him and then divorce him.

I presume the OP is about being San Diego.

But what if your name was Ago and your first name was Long? I hope that no parent would do that to a kid.

My brothers and I were named after English kings. Trouble is, two of those kings were beheaded and another was cut down in battle when he famously lost his horse. But he was only the third to bear that name. The other brother is named after the guy whose barons forced him to sign the Magna Carta.

My parents probably never really thought about those being the names of those monarchs. Mother was a church educational director before she became a school teacher and she probably chose two of the names for biblical connections.
