Coon *** fishing skiff
This is not a picture off the internet but a picture of the pirouge my Brother in Law rigged to pole and sight cast to red fish in the marshes. It works!!!
I've been wanting to share this for a while but just now found the picture on my computer. Amazing what a little thinking and a lot of beer will produce. Alas I cannot take any credit for it's birth but isn't this the neatest piece of bubba engineering you've seen in a while

Looks to me like the water jugs pivot down, and act as water wings. Looks like it would work real well to stabilize you when you are on the ladder. Great idea.

That's exactly how they work-it's stable as heck. He drilled a hole in the beams and inserts a pin to lock them when they're in the down position.

Training wheels
Looks like it would come in handy after a few adult beverages, let a fellow stay in the saddle a little longer.
Neat set up!

Great idea...It's like training wheels for a Canoe!
I need some on my canoe to keep from flipping it over.

I thought that DIY contraption was a matched set of Bubba outriggers.

First song about a coonass that came to mind.
Amos Moses might be more appropriate - left arm gone clean up to the elbow

Dat's one fancy pirogue rat der. First one I have ever did see with slotted gunwales and floorboards. The outriggers are ingenious. Ah, Acadian engineering at its best.

Somewhere the Kentwood Water man is looking for some missing jugs.
Looks like it should work fine, maybe for bowfishing too. That is some fancy pirougue, slats on the floor, I can't figure out the "gunnels" are they slotted?
(Looks like I crossed threads with Bert Man)

I thought the jugs were for, well to put your personal yellow water in so you don't leave scent to attract gators.

Just like the outriggers that South Sea islanders use on their canoes.
Neat setup.

And unless I miss my guess, having such a stable platform when the "outriggers" are deployed, your BIL stands on the second step from the top of the ladder to pole his boat along, or to see the fish and cast to 'em from there, and when he gets tired of that, he sits down on the top step and surveys his world, and all is good.

It wouldn't be cold. Its missing cushions, seat belts and two coolers; one for the fish and one for the beer. Guess which should be larger?

I believe ol' Hank pronounced it... "PIER-OH."
Looks pretty cool to me and it don't matter what you call it ... as long as it works!
