Now you've done it. Your post put that Mac Davis song about seeing Lubbock Texas in his rear view mirror in my head, and it won't go away!

I'm afraid if the state of Tennessee was to get an enema they'd stick it in Memphis.

So you were in Murphy because you had to leave WNC? That sucks. I hope you can get back to these mountains for good!

I understand - I left NLR in 2000 and haven't looked back. Retirement is a good thing!

At least you have Leonard's Barbecue and Colettas Pizza. Bartlett is a nice place to live too. We visited Memphis after 33 years of absence and couldn't believe how decayed the old part of the city was. It used to be called the "armpit of the South"; now that city description applies to a part further down. I wish you luck in Memphis and hope you find time to enjoy the barbecue and pizza.

Yeah. I give Asheville because not many people know of Murphy. But it's so hot here and I've been here for two days and already a murder. I'm so over this place

Oh don't get me wrong. Memphis is great... For the food. Epically if you like BBQ. But this place has gone to shat since I grew up here over 20 years ago. I moved back here just the other day and saw the city for the first time in 3 years. In just that short time half of what I remember has been demolished and now sits vacant.
