So Saturday morning I got a call from our State Game Service. They told me there were a few reports in that big bore rifles were heard being shot on my property up north. The Wardens were wondering if I was up there, and if not who was I letting use my property.

This seemed odd because they never call me for anything. So Saturday afternoon I decided to drive up there. Upon getting to the game station they notified me that they were hoping I would come up because they had a few "questions" regarding some fresh deer Caracas's on my land. Turns out some people cant read the posted no trespassing signs and decided to take some deer out of season on my property.......

So one of the Wardens and I decided to make a day of it and go hunter hunting through the nearly 120 acres I own that runs straight up the side of mountain with very uneven terrain, rock face cliffs and other hazards.

We ended up finding a small camp on the back edge, 30-06 shells were found NIB in a tent, also a wallet with a drivers license :-D. Suffice to say that the poacher will be arrested in the next coming days and charge with a slue of bad things.

After this I decided to stay up there for the remainder of the weekend. Got some GOOD fishing in, bit of hiking and rock climbing before I finally left around 11:45pm EST sunday night.

But I tell you..........I sure did miss the view up there :-D

Glad you caught up to the good for nothing poacher, hope the Warden Service prosecutes him to the max.
Maine is a beautiful state, I've been to Moosehead Lake and Bar Harbor, I wish I had the money to live there in the summer months.
