It was! I know a lot of you are opposed to open carry, but this event was different as the chamber of commerce was going to cancel the parade because one group wished to open carry. Needless to say it caught some press and in the end it was about freedom and not guns. There were no incidents and merchants ran out of food as it was the largest crowd ever.

if they did that in my home town the mayor would'a had a coronary episode

Actually, the Westcliffe Mayor was a supporter. The Chamber of Commerce folded to the desires of a petition started by a local anti (a lot of the signatures on the petition were found to be out of towners and out of staters.) The CoC cancelled the parade so the Town Council voted unanimously to sponsor the parade. There were a lot of folks from out of town who showed up to participate in the support of the 2A, including two other Colorado County Sheriffs who marched with our local Sheriff in support of the 2A. A grand time was had by all!
