New Hit Reality TV Show
While cutting the grass this morning, a light bulb went off in my head. It’s one of those rare ideas that can provide the big money and fame that I richly deserve… and the same for my many S&W Forum friends.
Even with the spate of reality TV shows now hitting the airwaves… I’m sure that there’s room for one more. One that’s truly ground breaking and captures the best of both reality TV and hit shows that have come before.
The show would be called "Guns, Leather, Dogs, and Grumpy Old Men". It would capture the best of Pawn Stars, Animal Planet, the DIY Channel, American Restoration, Call of the Wild Man, American Guns, and Pickers along with the movies Grumpy Old Men and Grumpier Old Men.
We can also break new ground by eliminating the need for a physical production site. The cast would be participating forum members with web cams. It would be “come as you are”…. bath robes, Hawaiian shirts, camo overalls, wife-beater tees and boxers, and Daisy Dukes with halter tops for the ladies of the forum.
Of course we need a strong and colorful star to host our show… That’s certainly Lee who would leave the Pawn Star’s Rick Harrison in the dust. I have a few ideas for who could take the roles similar to Chumlee and The Old Man. There’s even room for the role of a Danielle from Pickers. And of course, we’ve got plenty of folks who would make an absolutely great Turtleman.
The opportunities seem to be limitless. Any suggestions? … and let’s find out who’s in.

Well for starters we would also need some old cars and dont forget the pickup trucks. There's just something about a girl in Daisy Dukes and pickup trucks that sticks in my mind. Something about growing up in Georgia a long time ago I guess.

Of course, a pickup truck alone isn't complete without an old hound dog in the back.

I think you are on to something here. It certainly sounds like it would be worth watching considering all the junk they are producing for these so called "reality shows".

How about a segment on how to prepare artery cloggers, with the final dish presented on an old oak table guarded by a favorite S&W?

I ain't wearing no halter top for no body, cause I don't got no body. As I was typing this I remembered a guy I saw in Kentucky this past July, He was wearing Daisy Dukes and a tank top, what I thought was a pocket hanging out to the shorts leg was not a pocket. I gaged.
I could be the kindly wise old guy that listens to everyone who has a problem, while sipping bourbon and rocking in a rocking chair.

I like the way you think. Of course, it's to be called "reality" there has to be a lot of grousing about ammo shortages, Glocks, the younger generation, ammo shortages, other people's grammar, Glocks and ammo shortages. And that damnable internal lock. And MIM parts. And the decline in quality control. And the supremacy of 1911's and the Model 19. And Glocks and ammo shortages.
Hell, this thing could run for years!

In a hit T.V. "reality" show you have to include getting drunk, prison, trains, Mama, pick up trucks, rain,.......Oh wait that was a David Allen Coe song "You Never Call Me By My Name" They could make that song into a "reality show" though.

The major flaw to your plan is that you what a reality show that's actually real. There ain't no such thing. The networks would never go for it.

I can help with the politically correct part. Being American Indian, I'm a minority and I'm disabled. I do leather work so I can be in the DIY leather section.

I do not watch "Reality" show, but this is one I would be willing to watch. Do you think we could have it on more than once a week?

You'd be great to fill that leatherwork niche, Snub, but it doesn't look to me as if this show is shaping up to be too damn politically correct. Kind of the opposite...

It was a dark and stormy night when Dog fell down the Mountain when tripping over a Boo Boo whose mother was a trucker driving down the Ice Road. She became distracted when a Duck flew in front of the windshield. She knew she wasn't near the Jersey Shore and wondered if the Boo Boo had taken her watch to the Pawn shop. The Dog ran into Eustace on the Mountain and asked him who had won the recently declared Storage Wars. Eustace told him he was The Biggest Loser he had seen and asked him where he got his hair done. Dog told Eustace he was The Top Shot and asked if he wanted him to sight in his rifles for him.
Eustace asked if Dog was trying to Shine him on. Then Dog mentioned he had friends in the Amish Mafia who wouldn't like that kind of talk from someone who thought he lived on an Island of Turtles.
I think this would be a great first episode for a new reality show. I mean, who wouldn't believe it?

Then the Property Brothers show up to remodel Eustace place while Ink Masters correct Dog's old prison tats. Mike Rowe narrates, Thom Beers produces and Tickle provides the Moonshine....
Man, I shouldn't post replies at 0100 EDT

Yes, this just might work. It just needs a little more gun shooting and action. I guess I could get someone to film me and my buddies out killing feral hogs. We just slip up on them while they are sleeping peacefully in a mudbog and open fire with our scary a-salty rifles.Just empty our big nanner clips as fast as we can into them. Bullets flying, pigs screaming, that's good old fashion excitement right there.

You forgot bikes, blades and guitars. I want to see a guitar-shaped bike built. How cool would that be?

Why pay for any production costs? Just go to www.smith-wessonforum.com and watch the fireworks! There are lots of curmudgeons, many dogs, nice leather, super cool revolvers, and even some old coots. The best part? No commercials! Unless you want to count the advertisements on the sides. You can always ignore those, unless you really don't like what is being advertised. If that is the case, click on the link and force the advertiser to pay the Forum!
