Chiappa M-1 Carbine .22RF
I just bought this wood stocked apparently hi-fidelity copy of the Carbine.
It's a GB purchase, so it will be a while before I can look it over.
Anyone have a personal report on these.
I read a thread at rimfire central, seems they had some teething problems but the consensus was they shoot pretty well.
What do you think?

I Have.........
handled a wood stocked version at the LGS on numerous occasions, & if I had any disposable cash, it would be mine. The only thing I thought was not great was the rear sight is plastic, but I think a real one could be fitted with no problem. The barrel aint threaded either.
The wood is a very nice piece of walnut. I've handled the black plastic version too. It's about a $100 bucks cheaper.

I have a few carbine sights, so I may swap it out.
My impression is they tried to make a duplicate with fair success.
I think the M-1 Carbine is ideal in many ways.
Light, agile, easy to carry and handle and plenty of poop at closer ranges.
Just hope this one has a well build solid feel. The wood stock should help.

I note that extra magazines are a little spendy.
This report indicates that there are some other plastic parts

The bayonet lug clearly makes this an assault weapon. Should probably be banned. Anyone who wants to have one of these requires psychiatric intervention.

Mine makes a dandy wall hanger!
Chiappa fixed the chamber issue on mine and returned it with the back sight smashed. I re-contoured the back of the receiver a bit so a Williams dovetail peep sight would fit. Huge improvement machined metal vs. plastic.
Next trip to the range, the darned extractor broke. Chiappa knows about this problem as they have a redesigned extractor on new production guns. Guess what-they won't fix mine since the one year warranty is up. They also won't reply to my request to buy the part. So, the M1-22 sits in the corner with its reproduction WWII sling and oiler, looking good and collecting spider webs. Biggest waste of $$$ ever on a firearm

A buddy of mine brought up one to shoot a couple of weeks ago. It worked fine with Federal bulk pack stuff and rang the gong with satisfying regularity. My friend had been on a rimfire binge in the last year and had 8 or so of these military type lookalike .22s, including PPSH types, Sig-Sauers etc. Really didn't get a chance to wring them all out, but since it was his ammo, it was a lot of fun!

Nice piece, I didnt know these were made to fire 22s? I wonder if they also make a Garand that fires 22s--as well as an M-14?? If so? ill be a major player in buying many 22s.
BTW--I heard that the MP-40/22 is about to start being offered and also heard it was going to be for $599.00. Im looking forward to getting 1-2 of these as well as any others coming out in coming years.

My Dad carried one in Korea--and loved his Carbine. A few months before he passed away--and I wasnt working much then--I found one for sale and started making payments on it as I was wanting to just give it to him. Well, he passed away before I could take it out. After that, it took me about 6 months to finally pay it off--because any available money I made--I gave to my mother for expenses. The GS owner I was buying it from--was great with me on how I could pay it off. What happened was--when my Dad died--I never had time to think of finishing paying for the rifle. It was about 4 months later-when I went to the GS I was getting it from--and figured the rifle was sold and that I lost all the money I had on it but--on talking with the owner-and told him about my dad and such--he had zero problems working things out and said if all I could do is pay $5 a month? so be it.
