MANY years ago I picked up a IMI TimberWolf pump action take down 357 magnum carbine.

I put in my safe and forgot about it. Over 20 years. And I Never fired it...

Now I am thinking of selling it.

Except that I do Not know what it's value is.

Anyone have any idea what the going range is.

The gun is Not Excellent, more like Very Good +.

I recall about 30 years ago almost caving in and buying one, and I wish I had! At the time, you couldn't give them away. I had a good relationship with a LGS owner, and he made me a great deal, but I was a poor college student at the time, and just couldn't justify the expense. If I recall correctly, there was hope that this would be an ideal prison guard gun, but that deal never materialized. As I recall, a few years ago the Timberwolf became a hot topic because people suddenly realized they were designed as take-down rifles. Anyway, the few times I've seen any of them for sale in the past couple of years the price started at around $800.00 and went north from there. Thats absenting anything special about the piece such as condition, original box, documents, etc. You're a lucky guy and I'm happy for you.

I was going to buy the first one in .44 Magnum that I saw.
Never saw one.

There were a few in .357 around but I never worked up an interest in
them.

There are 3 completed auctions on Gunbroker, with the final bid being from $955. to $1375. Given this range, I would think the best way to pass it on would be by auction. Who knows what you might get!

I missed buying one 2 yrs ago for 700.00. I regret it. I have the .44 version and wanted his companion! Settled for a Marlin 1894 instead.

I dont like the looks of them but if they work well they make a lot of sense. If they "looked" like a winchester 1890 or colt lighting I would be hot for one in 357. I grew up on a pump model 61. You can shoot those things accuratly as any semi auto. Light and fast especialy with a visable hammer. I have a remington pump 30-06 760 that was my dads. I had it in the back of the safe for 10 years after he died. I got around to finaly checking it out at the range last year and was highly impressed! They are faster than either a bolt or lever and just as accurate. I have a peep on mine and its amazing!

Years ago after we were married, we had taken a trip to N Virginia to visit her family.

As is my habit, I had brought copies of my friend's FFL should I find something I want.

Well I found a brand new Winchester 94 carbine in 357. Had it sent home.

Took the Wife out to shoot it and some other guns. May have been a mistake. She did not shoot but a few rounds and said, " MINE" it is now in Her gun safe.

So, just to be polite, I will let her shoot this and see what she says.

Smart man. My prediction, especially if she already likes lever action .357 Magnum shoulder guns, is she'll "mine" the Timberwolf, so you get to keep it in the family.

This is the only one I've ever seen and I found it at a 100 table National Guard Armory show 7-8 years ago. Bought the S mod 28 and Case XX Bulldog at the same show along with the books and had enough left out of a thousand to buy GF lunch.

Great minds think alike. When I came down on orders for Alaska, about 1965, I bought a Remington 760 carbine (18 inch barrel) in 30-06. Best deal I ever made. it's quite accurate, very powerful, and good for almost anything. It wears an old Weaver K 2.5, plenty of scope for a timber rifle. The reticle originally was a post and crosshair. I didn't like it. I loaned it to a friend; he fell off a mountain with it, busted up the scope and broke his leg. He wanted to pay for the scope but I told him we'd go halves on it as I wanted a new reticle. Sent it to Weaver and they replaced it with a crosshair. I was happy. I haven't hunted much since I got back to the Lower 48, but that thing's got a moose and 4 caribou to its credit.
