Detective story thread.

I have decided to start a detective story thread here on the forum if anyone would like to participate in thread feel free to do so all i ask that you keep it clean. mg357 a proud member of the S&W Forum.

Private Detective Sam Smith is sitting at his desk drinking a cup of black coffee and watching his telephone when he hears a knock on his office door.

And slowly he walks towards the door and opens it.

[rags]

... and says, "How did you find me?"

A female voice softly replies "It was easy once I.......

[carpriver]

the yellow pages of course.

I need you to find my...

And the hard boiled dame in the white collared blue dress slowly shakes her head and says, "I've been your cleaning lady for 20 years. When are you going to stop asking that?

All of a sudden he realizes he is speaking to his wife, and says

"ever since they changed this metal plate in my head........"

"Well," said Sam, "come in. Have a donut. I just bought some Krispy Kremes. I read about them in a Robert B. Parker novel. I figure that if they're good enough for Spenser, they ought to be good enough for any private eye.

"There's coffee in the pot on the file cabinet to your left, and the spare cups are actually clean. I try not to lose any clients due to filthy cups."

He smiled tightly, and saw her respond with a slight smile of her own as she carefully studied his office, trying to deduce what sort of man and what sort of investigator he might be.

"Thanks," she said. "Krispy Kreme is good, in fact. I'll have a plain glazed one, please. Who pours the coffee, you or me? I want medium cream and about two spoons of sugar. And I want your solemn word that what we discuss today will remain in the fullest confidence."

...and she had two 45's!

She reached out to take his hand and.........?

Sam gently shook the young woman's hand. Then he said to her "How is the coffee? and don't worry what is said in this office stay's in this office."

She accepted the coffee, set it on his desk, taking a chair within a few feet of Sam.

"Look," she began, "I think I'm being followed, and I may know who hired someone to shadow me. My husband and I are separated, and it'd be worth his while to kill me to avoid what a divorce will cost him. But I'm even more afraid because until last week, I was a secretary in Frank Bellaventi's firm. You know him by reputation? He's in the news occasionally. He supplies various items to the city and has servicing contracts for several airlines. And his construction firm is building the new low income housing apartments on the south side."

I know who Mr. Frank Bellaventi is i see him on the news regularly so you think that someone at your old firm is conspiring with your husband to possibly have you killed?

[Jessie]

He interrupts her and says" he makes Japanese monster movies too?"
She smiles and said "excuse me, no,I just had to sneeze", but I'm worried what he might do"!

Ok here is what i want you to do, first go home and pack a bag with anything and everything that you may need second i want you to go stay with a friend or relative that you trust.

Your husband sounds like a very dangerous man i am going to follow him around the city and watch his every move if he is indeed trying to kill you i will find out who he is working with and do my best to stop it.

she then asks him, "but i've not yet asked about your fee
or retainer".
He replies, don't worry babe this one is on the house.
She heads towards the parking garage to get into her car
when suddenly....

"Whoa," said Smith. "Let's get this straight: do you think your husband is trying to kill you on his own, or is he somehow involved with Belleventi? And I do know that Belleventi moved here a few years ago under a cloud. He barely escaped Federal racketeering charges in Chicago, I believe? Was involved with the mayor's office there? That's hardly a bastion of integrity.

"But before we digress, you'd better describe whoever you think is following you and what he drives, if you've seen a car. And precisely when did this following begin, to your knowledge? Did something happen at work to cause you to be followed, let alone to leave your job? And do you mind if I record this conversation, if it remains betwen us, unless something happens to you?"

"How could anything happen to me when I have a big strong Private Eye like you watching my 6?"

And then we HIT THE IGNORE BUTTON.

The Saga continues, as he continues recording her answers.

He than kissed her pouty red lips and....see your next installment at the newstand

LooooooooooooNG pause for the kiss, Det. Smith escorts the female to her car.

He returns to his office and continues to work the 25 other cases that he received earlier that morning. He drinks the entire pot of coffee and eats the remaining 10 Krispy Kreme doughnuts. Det. Smith then informs the undercover guys that that Frank Bellaventi is back in town and up to his old tricks.

Later that evening, while Det. Smith is hot on the lead of one of his other active cases, the undercover team informs him that .........................

Some dame called, "said she used to be your cleaning lady and has a tip for you about some Chicago MOPE"..............

As Sam sits in his truck and talking on his car phone with his undercover team listening to what they had found out about MR. Frank Bellavanti and the soon to be ex-husband of his current client. When suddenly his gets a text message from his client telling him that someone is trying to kick in her front door. Sam tells his undercover team to call the police and meet him at the hotel where his client is staying.

Then Sam hangs up his car phone puts on his seatbelt and drives full speed to the hotel.
When he gets there a masked man is banging violently on the door to room 940. Sam runs out of his pickup truck grabs the man throws him to the grown and puts handcuffs on his wrists and holds him until the law arrives.

The handcuffed perp yells at him" take these cuffs off you idiot! I'm a SWAT officer, there was gunfire reported coming from this room!

A likely story when the police arrive they take the bad guy away and Sam carefully knocks on room 940's door "its Sam open the door."

Sam slowly opened the door and saw that his new Client was holding, an old .45 caliber pistol. He careful took the gun from her and put it aside. The police have taken the bad guy into custody you and i will have to go down there and you will have to look at the man and see if you recognize him.

I don't want you to worry i will be with you and the room has a special viewing window the bad guy won't be able to see you but you will be able to see him.

A few minutes later Sam and his client got into the truck and drove to the police station. they were taken into the room and she was allowed to view the bad guy.

Sam looked at her and he said "Ok now take your time and look at him carefully".

She then asked if maybe they could have him face towards her.

Sam asked the police officers to turn the bad guy so that he would face toward her so that she could get a better look at him. Then sam whispered to her "Now remember he can't see you at all". The bad guy was turned around and Sam's client looked at him carefully.

Sam's client said, "I think I've seen him hanging around the neighborhood and pizza shop, I've seen him ordering PESTO on his pizza's before."

"Hum" said Sam, "Pesto Pizza's and a Chicago connection, I just wonder if................."

She stared at the bad guy, her mouth hanging open; tears came to her baby blue eyes. She could barely speak. "I recognize him. That's my identical twin brother!"

Sam looked at the bad guy a few moment's and then he snapped his fingers Thats Gilbert "pesto" Granite he is a notorious hitman and escape artist he worked for mister Frank Bellavanti. When he was in chicago running some very bad criminal enterprises.

I want him arrested, interrogated, and then i want him locked in the best cell you have and guarded around the clock he is dangerous and should be watched carefully.

Then 5 of the best police officers grabbed the bad guy and dragged him away to a secure interrogation room.

Then they realized that this bad guy wasn't worth their best cell or their best 5 cops...so they threw him out the window.

Sam and his lovely client followed the officers as they escorted the bad guy to the secure interrogation room once they were at the room. Sam and his client were forced to wait outside of the interrogation room.

Sam took a listening device that had a tape recorder attached to it and placed it against the door and recorded every single detail of the interrogation.

Sam said to his client "We'll listen to this after we have dinner."

So Sam and his client got back into his truck and drove to a safe house that he owned and once there at the safe house Sam and his client got out of his truck, went inside and Sam introduced her to the rest of his special team then Sam got her settled into a room.

Once she was settled into the room Sam cooked a nice filling dinner then they ate. After dinner Sam, his special team gathered around the table and Sam place the recorder into the midle of the table.

Then he said " I am warning each and every one of you what your about to here is extremely graphic and obscene. Then he pushed the play button on the recorder.

But before they could leave, Sam was arrested for recording an official police interrogation in violation of the posted signs" Absolutley no phones or recording devices allowed! "

Sam's client and his special team listened to the contents of the recording, every dirty filthy detail during the listening process Sam became violently ill several times and had to leave the room because the contents of recording made him very sick.

After he had been in the bathroom for a while Sam's Friend police officer Mike Franklin stood outside the bathroom with a cup of coffee in his hand. Sam's used the cup of coffee to cleanse the vomit after taste out of his mouth. " Then he said thanks Mike i needed that, then he said this team has a bad situation on its hands."

Mike looked at his friend Sam and he replied "Amen to that Amen" when they were done talking they went back to the kitchen and continued listening to the recording.

The next morning Sam and Mike are outside on the safehouse porch drinking coffee when suddenly a japanese robot started coming toward their direction with an explosive device attached to its chest.

Sam pulled his S&W Model 586 & Mike pulled his S&W Model 10 out of their holsters and they started shooting at the robot.

After taking 12 hits the robot exploded! After the dust settled Sam and Mike made their way toward the robot wreckage. As they were examining it Sam looked up and saw a man running through the woods.
Sam and Mike ran after him, Mike tackled the man then Sam put handcuffs on him. Once the man was cuffed. They picked him up off of the ground and removed the disguise he was wearing.

Mike instantly recognized the man and he said. " Sam this is George Bellaventi younger brother to mister Frank bellaventi. While Sam held the bad man at gun point Mike questioned him over and over George spilled his guts he told them everything that they wanted to know.

When they police finally showed up to take George away Mike warned the officers about The bad Man and he also warned them about how dangerous he was. Then the police put George into their car and drove him to jail.


Once the bad guy was taken away Mike called a CSI team to come and examine the robot wreckage. A little later on the CSI Team arrived and Sam and Mike got out of their way, went back into the house and told Sam's client and Sam's doctor and Lawyer what happened.

A short time later one of the CSI team members called Mike outside to look at a piece of the robot wreckage. So Mike went outside and he looked at the piece of wreckage but he could not identify it.

So he called Sam outside and Sam looked at the piece of wreckage and he looked at it over and over.

But detective Sam Smith could not identify this unusal piece of wreckage or the odd markings that were stamped on it.

Then this thought hit him "What does a crime boss, an angry soon be ex-husband, and a blue eyed woman working at a pizza restaurant have in common?"

Then Sam snapped his fingers, then he looked at Mike and he said "Mike i need to talk to you privately. So they went into the safe house and they sat down at the kitchen table, and Sam began to speak. " Mike i think that my client's angry and soon be ex-husband contacted Frank Bellaventi and mr. Frank Bellaventi is using his vast criminal resources to kill my client".

Mike scratched his chin and he said. "Sam that makes a lot of sense but proving it is going to be a challenge we are going to need of lot of evidence if we expect to put the angry husband and Mr. Bellaventi in prison, and obtaining this evidence ain't gonna be easy."

So while the CSI Team continued there work on the robot wreckage Sam and Mike went inside and talked to Sam's client his doctor and his lawyer and they formulated a plan.

Sam would continue his survelliance of his client's angry soon to be ex-husband and Mike would begin his survelliance on MR. Frank Bellaventi and his various associates.

For the next 8 weeks the survelliance went on and on at the end of each day's survelliance session Sam and Mike would turn over their evidence to Sam's lawyer and he would put it into a dossier file that he was putting together. Then when Sam's lawyer had enough evidence in the dossier file he took it to the assistant district attorney's office who read it throughly.
