Academy Sports
I haven't bought ammo in a couple of months, but I bought some 22lr yesterday and I was surprised when she asked if I wanted 2 boxes of course, thank you. I was going there every mon, wed, and fri for a few months so the girl knew me and was saying I could even get 2 of the value size boxes of 9mm Remington UMC I just told her I don't have the money for that right now. 200rds is what I got, and hopefully it will be shot today or tomorrow. I am actually contemplating if I should go shooting at this moment...

Ours here started allowing two boxes of whatever size--per day about a month or so ago. All mine had this morning were boxes of 22 magnums? or something like that? and that was the only kind of 22 that the WM I went to today had. They were about $5 and change per box of 100? but I passed on them. Ill wait for the shipment of Winchester 22s to come in the local Academy on Tuesday-then will get my fill.

Unfortunately the nearest Academy is about 50 miles away. It's my local Walmart, or nothing. I figure sometime next year my Walmart may of my not, have something in the ammo department besides shotgun shells, which no one seems to buy.

I was at DSG's last week getting my co2 tank refilled for my Soda Stream, & asked the guy if they had any 9mm. They had two or three options on the shelf, & he went in the back to see if he anything else. He came back with a 150 round box of Ultra Max, which I haven't seen since last year. I snapped that up as I have a new 9mm to take to the range.

My local Academy has a lot of 7.62 x 38 Nagant ammo and lately I see they're selling primers! 4.00 a box but in a pinch!

I can remember, not that many years ago, when I bought Winchester primers for $14.00/1000. The good ole days.

I've only been in Texas for 10 years and this is the first I've seen Academy selling any handloading components!

Yes, and I'm old enough to remember when Academy was a military surplus store that sold a few sporting goods.
