Highly annoyed
Have pneumonia again. Diagnosed at a CareNow facility. On two (2) antibiotics, steroids (I hate steroids). At least I caught it earlier this time. At home, off for another three(3) days will play it by ear for the weekend.
The physician at the CareNow had done part of his residency at my ER and remembered me.
This getting old ain't for sissies.
Prayers would be appreciated, I do not want to go back in to the hospital.

yep, its irritating when the body folds , i wonder if when we are done "evolving" will back pain , arthritis and pneumonia etc cease to exist for us?
rest up, this is a bad time of year for pneumonia. careful, it CAN kill you, but ill bet you already know that .

You have my best wishes for a full and speedy recovery. As you know pneumonia is nothing to fool with, especially as we get older.

I just spent a week in the hospital with pneumonia and another month on the couch and in my recliner. I NEVER want to go through that again!
You have my sympathy and a prayer for your quick and complete recovery.

Nothing to play with. I had a friend that thought he could beat it by himself. You did notice I said "had a friend". He was in his 40s.

I had it a couple of times 5 or 6 years ago. I got a shot after that, and another after 5 years. It won't prevent all pneumonia, but at least it will help.

Don't they have a vaccine....
Sorry and hope you get over it soon. I believe I got a pneumonia vaccine last time I was in the hospital. That'd be a good question for your doctor.

Prayers for you Pawncop. You are right about getting old isn't for sissies. I had 3 kidney stone procedures from 8/2 to 9/2. I just had the last stint pulled last Wed.
I had pnemonia about 2 years ago. I took the shot last year.
It is making me tougher. Or at least tougher when I'm not crying.
Hang in there and get well.

Pawncop; I got out of the hospital yesterday, Inflamed Pancreatitis. Very painful, thought I was having a heart attack. Main thing the doc's look for is getting peunomea. Got shots for everything including flu. Home now & moving slow.I feel like a pin cushion, for sure.

Im in full agreement with what the rest of the Gents here said-hope you have a speedy recovery. I spent 8 days in the hospital for double pneumonia when I was 18? and had two tubes stuck in my arms as well as was on oxygen. The first couple of days were pure hell. Every hour on the hour-asleep or not? I had to take several pills and the most horrible of some sort of red syrup. My lungs had to be drained several times because the "stuff" would just seep into them again keeping me from breathing.
Like I say--prayers for a speedy recovery.

You have my prayers for a speedy and complete recovery. Take care of yourself now cause pneumonia is not a things us old timers need be be fooling around with. Follow all the docs orders and take yer meds. we'll all be glad you did.
When my dad was in his late 80s he got it and spent 2 weeks in the horsepistol. Docs released him too soon and he relapsed and got it much worse than the fist time. This time he was 4 weeks in the hospital and when they let him go he was in such a weakened condition he had to spend 8 months rehabbing in a nursing home. It can get to be some serious stuff.

Prayers outbound. And a strong second for hating steroids, or at least prednisone. But there are times when it's all that works.

Get well soon, pawncop. I had the same stuff a couple of years ago. Talk about getting kicked while your up, and down. The steroids were the hardest part. Took a few days after feeling better, to get back to eating normally, but at least it kicked that garbage out.
