Is this a fair trade?
I have a shield .40 with 9mm barrel, 2 extended 9mm magazines, 1 flush and 1 extended 40 magazine, installed APEX trigger kit and some hollow points with less than 500 rounds through her for a Colt Lightweight carbine (LE 6900) and 2 30 round magazines, AR has 100 rounds through it.

That's the 9mm carbine, right? If so, I'd say your in the ball park. If the carbine is .223 the Shield is not equal in value.
For a while Shields were impossible to find and the price just kept going up. On the other hand I personnally don't see a use for a 9mm carbine.

Yes it is. I know, it was a little unclear as I wrote it. At least here in CO a .223 "assault rifle" would far out-value almost all pistols. I would gladly trade my 9mm Shield (and I love it) for a Colt .223.

A standard model Colt .223 M4-type carbine goes for $1K at Wmart. For the same rifle in nice used condition, you're looking at a very reasonable $750+. A Shield will not hold value or appreciate like a Colt M4. The next shooting that causes a national panic and widespread talk of gun bans will probably not be caused by a Shield, but very possibly will involve an AR, making the Colt even more valuable.
.223/5.56 ammo has also leveled at ~.40-.50/round, with supplies becoming greater. 9mm is still tough to find in quantity.
I would trade the Shield for the Colt.

Then get off your butt and grab that nut! That is a trade I would make all day, every day. If you decide against it send him my way!

I've seen 'convertibles' with a .357 Sig and .40 S&W barrels , but how can a 9mm barrel work with a .40 slide?

Your Shield for his Colt AR? Trade before he has a chance to
wake up and change his mind.

Made the trade, the AR looks brand new only marks on it are on the brass deflector. Went shooting today (only 40 rds) but went smooth and loved it. Very happy with this trade! Thanks for all your opinions!

Regardless of the chambering of the Colt™ AR style rifle, it will outweigh the value of the Shield.
It will be one of the best trades you make.

Everyone needs at least one AR (or AR style) rifle. You made a killer trade!
BTW, Colt is the best known of the tier 1 AR's.
