I'm thinking about movin' to Texas. To start practicing I guess that I'll point out that her name is Sondra.

I loved Josey Wales, but my all time favorite western is John Wayne in The Searchers.

Well, based on my moniker, it's a no-brainer.... Josey Wales
"You'll find them up in Kansas. They're with the Union. And we're goin' up there and set things right."

My favorite lines!
Chief; "I guess we ain't gonna see that little Navajo girl again."
OJW; "Yep , I was beginning to like her. But then it's always like that!"
Chief; "Like what?"
OJW; "Whenever I get to likin' someone , they ain't around long!"
Chief; "I notice whenever you get to disliking someone , they ain't around for long neither!"
Another good one.
Cap'n Redlegs; "Well , not a hard man to track! Leaves dead men where ever he goes!"

I have said it before and I'll say it again. One of the best features of that movie, right along with the great dialogue, direction and story line is the absolutely stellar supporting cast.
Will Sampson and Chief Dan George were SO great and had such great lines and delivered them so well that they were almost 100% successful and making the presence of the perpetually skanky and rhumey eyed and runny nose (from all the coke she put up her nose) Sondra Locke almost bearable. Every time I see her I stop and think, "now where did I leave my 10-FOOT POLE. I'm talkin' about a genuine two bagger here folks....
I know y'all know the one about "coyote love" right. I have always believed that it was made up by one of her one-night stands.
Now Grace Kelly....quite possibly the most naturally beautiful woman ever. You could wake her up at 3:30 in the morning and tell her her house was on fire and send her screaming out into the night with no make up and curlers all in her hair and she'd look better than a lot of women do after all day at the beauty parlor on her best day. Sigh......

As others have stated....
If you like to read, you can order the book from Amazon (or order from local bookstore):
Josey Wales (Two Westerns by Forrest Carter); Gone To Texax & The Vengeance Trail of Josey Wales
The two books were written in 1973 and 1976, respectively.
My copy has both books in one, and is from University of New Mexico Press.
Forrest Carter also wrote the classic book: The Education of Little Tree

Clint Eastwood spent a LOT of time and effort just promoting her in his movies and she just wasn't leading lady material. That was his choice, but I don't have to like it.

Great thread guys. If I had to choose I'd have to give the nod to Josey by the thinnest of margins.
The Ten Bears scene would have to be one of the reasons. Quotable lines like "Well, are you gonna' pull them pistols - or whistle Dixie" and some of the others quoted here would have to be some of the main reasons. On the other hand "If he's gonna' decorate his store with my friend, then he ought ta' have armed himself" is just as memorable. Must have something to do with the guy delivering the lines.
Like Alpo, I don't think Sandra is either the ugliest or worst actress in Hollyweird. She certainly isn't near the top of the list on either count, but not the total bottom of the barrel either. Though I agree, Clyde's performance was much more memorable.
Personally I despise her for the way she behaved when she and Clint had their falling out. If he hadn't given her major roles in so many of his movies she would have never had a career at all. Seriously, how many non-Eastwood pictures can you think of that had her as a member of the cast - much less a starring role?
When they split up she should have just quietly settled with him and then went away. Instead she showed what an ungrateful, gold-digging witch she really is.

When he finally came to his senses and showed her the gate she filed a lawsuit claiming, among other things, that he ruined her career. Hello! She must have been delusional if she thought she'd ever do anything other than porn if not for his efforts in her behalf.
it's like God looked down one day, pointed his finger at her and said, "today, I gonna mess somebody up." And he did too. She is not only devoid of any discernible talent but she has the personality of a pig, and the general appeal of 5 miles of muddy road. Not one redeeming feature.
But I mean all this in the kindest possible way......NOT! I never understood why a guy like Clint ever gave her the time of day. He could have had any woman he wanted.

I like both movies but I have to give the nod to Josie Wales.
A few memorable lines:
To hell with them fellas....a buzzard's gotta eat, same as a worm. (spit)
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle dixie?

Couple other quotes...
Fletcher: There's another old saying, Senator: Don't piss down my back and tell me it's raining.
Bounty hunter #1: You're wanted, Wales.
Josey Wales: Reckon I'm right popular. You a bounty hunter?
Bounty hunter #1: A man's got to do something for a living these days.
Josey Wales: Dyin' ain't much of a living, boy.

Sondra Locke gave decent performances in The Gauntlet and as the rape victim in one of the Dirty Harry movies. Especially the latter.

Sudden Impact is the one you are thinking of.
The Gauntlet was about her peak in my opinion.
