I think if you're suggesting they're "learning it from YouTube", I suggest that's not entirely accurate. In the 60s and 70s gangs in SoCal would not just cold cock innocent people, they'd shoot them. It's an initiation right of passage for a lot of gangs. For a while the Las Lomas gang east of Los Angeles would slice innocent bystander's necks with a carpet knife. Just to prove to their fellow thugs they're not afraid.

For some reason the MexiGangs in LA tended to use knives while the black gangs used guns. Now there's Asian gangs. I moved out of there long ago, I don't know what the Asians are using.

The Asian gangs are the worst. From what I saw, the "Bloods, Crips (creeps) and he "Woods" have nothing on them as far as the level of ruthlessness goes..

The real sad part is who will step up to defend them when something goes wrong and they pay the price at the hands of someone quicker and smarter.

They should ask Manny Pacquiao how He likes their game.

The sad part is there really can't be much to prepare for. It is an ambush.
Saying they are cowards does nothing to them for the acts.
If--they could be located and the favor returned in spades, might have some amount of reward.
Kids without conscious and looking for a gang for love---Nothing said will prevent the scars.

Actually, for some of these guys, prison is an improvement. 3 meals every day, indoor plumbing, heat, education, a roof, guards watching everybody.

The best solution for senseless violence is probably some very sensible violence.

Even if you are prepared and act, see what happens when you cap one of those "honor students." Sick, like a lot of this country these days. Joe

Thank the Lord I don't have to live around that kind of stuff. Sometimes I feel extremely blessed to own this little corner of the Ozark mountains where the silence is deafening, except for occasional gunfire. God bless those poor folks getting knocked out like that. That is terrible.

It`s really scary , because it is so random and illogical.
How can one prepare himself for such an attack, especially since a lot of it is sneak up and hit from behind?
I`ll be more aware down town from now on, but I doubt it`ll help much.

i believe that one parent needs to be at home with the kids if possible
wife and i both worked ,my boy turned out alright but i think we may have been able to guide some of his choices a little bit better than he did on his own.

yessseree bob it certainly was. there was NO fear of leaving the doors unlocked and the windows open at night in the summer time...we had natural air conditioning.

we stayed out after dark in the summer time, NO body got molested or abducted.

we knew everyone by name in the neighborhood and those that needed help didn't have to ask, we all pitched in.

the biggest drama was when the ice cream man came down the street in his truck, ringing the bell and the kids came pouring out of the houses.

buddy holly, little richard , chuck berry were the chart toppers and DOO WOP was KING...

everybody wanted to be #19 of the Baltimore colts.

and now, how did everything get so far off base...........
