I heard there were. Like you, I've shot many more handloads through my wheelguns over the years.

Glad to see the bad weather bypassed you.

If memory serves I did see some revolver CARTRIDGES some months ago that appeared to come from a factory but I couldn't swear to that. There weren't many though so I'd say they were rare. Someone once told me that you could shoot 22LR in a revolver but I'm sure he was funnin' me. Who ever heard of such a thing!

I wish you luck finding "factory" revolver cartridges. 'Course you might be able to get a few ROUNDS through military friend?

Don't be too hard on the OP, given what has been available on the shelves for most of this year I've been wondering the same thing. Besides, look where he is from. there may be a law against revolver ammo in his part of the counrty.

Get some moon clips for your 9 mm, that will make them factory auto and revolver CTG.

The 9mm Federal was a factory revolver round. Charter Arms made a revolver chambered for it. It didn't last long.

The PX goofed up and thought they were purchasing Federal BRAND 9mm Para ammo, so ordered a bunch up. They couldn't sell it (wonder why?) and put it up for sale for a blowout price. I bought a bunch for use in my SP-101 9mm, and it worked just fine there. This was back around 1995 or so.

Actually I was thinking of the SP-101 9x19. Then I though about the Ruger Black Hawk convertible SA that did not need moonclips, then I thought about S&Ws. The post was up before I realizes that 9 mm is also a revolver CTG.

This is a weird thread. I shoot .357Mag rounds through my revolver and I bought them from the store. Aren't they factory revolver rounds?

Do you have to bring a gun as well?

I think the original post was meant as a joke, if not, it's a pretty damn odd question for someone to ask who appears to be a member of the NRA, the Smith & Wesson Collectors association, and in the Military (or retired miltary).
The fact that they are going to become a CCW INSTRUCTOR ,and not know anything about ammunition, what kinds are available, and how to obtain it , is very puzzling .
It's like saying "hey , I'm going to be a drivers Ed instructor, does anybody know if gasoline for automobiles can be purchased?"

Really? When I took my ccw test in Texas the instructor let me use my own handloaded 45 acp ammo. Including my own cast 225 gr. bullets!

Some of you folks have no sense of humor. I have shot revolvers for over 40 years, but it has been almost totally reloads. I find reloading almost more fun than shooting some times. When I checked my ammo cabinet, I found that I only had one box of factory 38sp ammo and it is almost 40 years old. I load for 6 revolver rounds and have a few of each around in factory. I have changed my mind about the class, too much else going on at this time.

Hey, didn't Ruger used to make a revolver in .30 Carbine? I've seen some of that (overpriced of course) on the shelves...

Default Factory ammo$$

On an instructor level class, I might think they would let you use re-loads. # 200 factory IF YOU CAN FIND IT, isn't gonna be cheap. Maybe it could be written off on taxes, if you get paid to instruct (or not) and it is required? Does the ammo cost more than the class?
