NRA Patron Upgrade
Just got an offer to upgrade from Endowment to Patron level for $300. (regularly $1500 - which I cannot afford right now)
Anyone else get one or a similar 'upgrade' offer?
The check has gone out.

I have $300. How do I get the upgrade?
Edit: Disregard. You have to already be an Endowment member.

there was a $500 life member offer too.
If you're interested, call them, see what they'll do.

Congrats to all who can take advantage of these offers. Send all you can afford to guys.
I still get offers for special circles or panels and such. I have so many pocket knives, do-dads, etc, that I quit accepting most.
It's a tough time of year for many of us. Property taxes, insurance, and Christmas to name a few of my obligations. I'm in the midst of a ridiculously expensive divorce too.
I believe in the NRA. I try to put my money where my mouth is!

I'm 80, I don't think I'm interested in a life membership.

I got the Life membership back in the '80s. When I started working overseas, I started upgrading. Managed to get to Benefactor.
Glad I got it when I could. I can't afford it now. Heck, I can't even afford to pay attention!

I also would take the discounted upgrade offers every few years, figuring I'd already saved a substantial amount of the equivalent costs of the annual membership.
Now however, the "upgrade" offers I'm getting are just as expensive, but evidently require an equally expensive annual renewal. No thank you! While I make additional donations when I can and at what seems to me to be critical times, that kind of yearly expense would lead me to stop those entirely.
I'm afraid that whomever is in charge of this particular marketing campaign at the NRA needs to recheck their figures and re-examine the program from a consumer psychological standpoint. There are some major "negatives" attached to doing this that it doesn't look like they're aware of.
--And yes, I have an MBA with some strong marketing background in addition to my engineering degree and work.

You may not be seeing these if you haven't reached the 'Benefactor' level yet.

The offer was slow to come to me, but I got an email from them today. I was an Endowment member already, so it was an easy choice to upgrade to Patron.
As I've said before, the NRA is not a perfect representative of citizens' firearms rights, but it is the most effective. I'll remain supportive until the fight against wrong-headed legislation is no longer needed.
I just happily upgraded my NRA symbol in the badge line after my forum handle.
