LCRx
Check it out. It still weighs .2 oz more empty than my 337 does loaded. But I tell ya, if I didn't already have my 337, this looks pretty sweet.

I have one - the .357 version. Like it mucho...those Hogue Tamer grips take a great deal of the bite out of .357 mag. rounds. Wife really likes it!!

I fail to see what purpose an exposed hammer version serves.

That gun is not worth a dime over 250 bucks cause it didn't cost NEAR that much to make, but I would probably go as high as $260 for one.

What are they selling for?
At the NAPA yesterday, they had a new 642 (no lock) for $399 plus tax. Had a display case full of j-frames, probably 30 or so.

I know a Woman who is in her 70s. She got a carry permit and asked me what to get. I showed her several of my guns. She couldn't retract the slide on my Glocks or the Kahr I had at the time. She bought an S&W M442, but couldn't pull the trigger and even had a hard time opening the cylinder. We went to Scheels and she bought an LCR. She can use it just fine. She also bought an LCP .380 ACP.
Both suit her very well.
Ruger makes some good guns.

My wife won a gun raffle this year and as she was looking for a different CCW pistol selected a LCR in 357. She absolutely loves the pistol with 38 +Ps in it. I fired one cylinder with 357s. The recoil was stiff, but manageable. The recoil seems to come straight back rather than flip the pistol up so followup shots are quicker. Quicker than my Kahr CW40 anyway.

I carry the LCR .357 daily
For CCW I really see no advantage of the hammer
The snag less design in DAO is perfect for CC
What they could do is offer a 9mm
Or, a 4 shot .44 mag (if possible)...... That would be a handful

Personally, I'd like for Lady Koz to give the LCR a try for CC, but I'm afraid if I show it to her she give me the stink eye because it soooo flippin' ugly.

I don't know about the x, but the LCR sells for $399 at Buds Gun Shop. Free shipping. IMO, LCR has a much better trigger than my 642.

S&W set the bar with the Airweight Centennial a l-o-n-g time ago and no one yet has even come close with another revolver, IMO.
Some significant improvements have been made in the small autos.

Does Ruger have an engineer whose primary function is to see how ugly they can make a double-action revolver? Seems that way to me, and it only gets worse with time.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder ( they say)
I see the LCR as a tool for CC. Not a "looker" but it serves it's purpose.
I can sweat, it can rain. Doesn't concern me as much as opposed to carrying a beautiful blued steel weapon IWB with all the sweat and moisture the body creates.
Just my view

I have an acquaintance that has an S&W revolver collection that would make anyone on this forum drool. He is a bit older and has some arthritis but can shoot just about anything. So I assumed he carried a 642/442. But no, he said of all the revolvers he's ever shot, he settled on the Ruger LCR in 38spl. Said it has a great trigger and light recoil with those grips. I trust his wisdom and that means that LCR is a great little gun.

Ugly is as ugly does. The fact is the Ruger works great, is lightweight, easy to use, ergonomic, durable and is an excellent carry piece. It is a fine tool, and working revolver, not an object de art. When it comes to guns, I will take practical any day over cute or beautiful.

Yup Gordy, he shares an office with the guy who handles all of the recalls.
I hear that Ruger's new standard packaging includes a preprinted return label so the customer can be the last quality inspector.
You couldn't GIVE me one of these abominations.
This is what a hammer-shrouded .357 pocket gun is supposed to look like.
Life's too short to own disposable, cookie cutter guns..

Which serves no tactical purpose of which I can conceive. It's not a target or plinking gun, it's a defensive firearm, most appropriately a BUG. The snag free nature of the enclosed backstrap does serve a purpose, which is destroyed by having a hammer. In addition, that closed backstrap keeps the dust bunnies and crud out of the works.

I had a LCR in .38 special +p when they first came out. I carried it on my ankle in a Desantis Apache holster and often forgot it was there. It has the best DAO pull I ever shot. The only reason I sold it was because I wasn't really accurate with it past 7 yards. I don't like those type of revolver sights. I prefer the type shown below. That said, even for concealed carry, I'd prefer a revolver with a hammer over one without a hammer. I love that single action trigger pull. If you practice enough then you don't have to worry about the hammer snagging clothing. I'd buy the LCRx in a heartbeat if it had the better sights (see below)

I would like to have one in .22 mag.
I'll stick with S&W for the center fires.

Unfortunately I have seen pictures of that monstrosity, but I was thinking in terms of revolvers. If there was a Pulitzer for ugly, I'd nominate the Mossberg.

I have an LCR and use it as my daily carry, ugly, heck yes, but its a true no worry revolver. It fits my hand like a glove and the trigger pull is outstanding, and I don't have to care if it scratched or dinged up. As Steely Dan stated, it a tool, a true working gun, and the finest carry revolver I've ever owned.
I'll be buying an LCRx sometime soon as I like the DA/SA option.
