My NRA knife showed up today.
Some of you might remember, a while back I posted a link to a deal where you could get a free Buck knife for donating to the NRA-ILA.
Donate to the NRA and get a Buck Knife
The fundraiser was such a success that there was a delay in getting the knives shipped.
Well, I got mine today, and I AM IMPRESSED!
I was expecting a smallish knife to show up, but when I opened the package, much to my surprise a nice, medium-sized knife was enclosed.
Best part....
Made in the USA and has Buck's Lifetime Warranty.

Nice Knife Hilbilly77
The fact that your knife is "Made In The USA" makes me feel very proud, I had asked them to "Keep" all the Nice "Made In China" gifts they were sending to my address. I'm very sure that I have no responsibility but others must have also complained for the NRA to change their ways. Do hope they have changed their ways.

Buck moved to China several years ago and due to so many complaints they opened a facility back in the good old USA. I think they still have a line of China knives.
Nice knife.

The local Academy Sports store has a good selection of Buck Knives, not all but probably 50-60% of them MADE IN USA. I have bought a few just for the heck of it and found them well made and surprisingly well priced. Give em a try.

I hoped that my back ordered NRA-ILA knife was in the mail today. But, sadly it was not. Maybe tomorrow.

I'm hoping I'll get a knife but not sure. I joined 5 days before I received something in the mail about membership and the knife. There was a survey included. I mailed the survey back and a note telling them that I'd joined 5 days prior and asked if I qualified for the knife. Hoping.

Mine came today too...and I was also pretty impressed!
That's a lot of USA-made knife for a $24.00 donation!

I don't think they ever moved to China - they moved from California to Post Falls, Idaho a few years back. Buck, like Gerber, has a low-end line of knives made in China but their better, higher-priced knives are still made in the USA. Gerber knives are (or were) marked "Gerber USA" if they were made in the US and just "Gerber" if they were made elsewhere. I'm not sure if Buck knives are marked differently for the various country of origin but I believe their website will tell you where each knife is made.

February now and still no knife for me. Looks like it could have been a nice one, too.
Sure no shortage of additional donation requests, though.

Sorry to hear that your knife hasn't showed up yet.
Have you tried contacting them and asking them what gives?
You can opt out of the donation solicitations if you ask them to remove your name from their list.

And oddly enough... I just (finally) received an actual response from my inquiry...

Thank you for contacting the NRA-ILA. We appreciate your patience regarding your Buck knife order. Unfortunately, it has taken longer than expected for Buck to fulfill the backorder. You can rest assured though that we are sending out the backordered knifes as quickly as possible and you should receive you knife in the near future. Again, we apologize for the delay. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. We appreciate your support.

The Buck knives I've seen at work have different boxes for the USA and China knives.
I don't know if they still do that.

I upgraded my membership at last renewal and opted for the knife gift.
Received it a couple of weeks ago. It's a 3 1/4" black anodized blade, side lock with a belt clip and is completely unmarked other than the "NRA" on the blade. Guess I can't complain that it came from China nor can I brag that it was made in the USA.
(Maybe it was a black-ops CIA overrun....)

I joined a couple of days before the knife deal. I sent a note asking if I could get one but they sent me a cap. Unfortunately, the cap is too small for my big head. Still a good deal.

I got the range bag and I'm very happy.
I'm glad you like the knife. I hate to sound like an old fogey or the poster that can't understand the allure of plastic rifles, but to me Buck knives aren't plastic.
I think it was in Tom Sawyer where Tom thrilled at getting a "gen-U-ine" Buck knife and the joys of carving on things.

I got one of those, nothing, no mention of where it was made. NRA on the blade. It won't be replacing my 35 year old Buck but it seems to be a decent knife.

That I don't understand. In 45 years of being a member I have never failed to receive any promised item. In fact I have received items that I was not expecting. Guess you are just having bad luck.

I called the NRA today to find out why I hadn't received a knife or even an offer on one. A very nice lady got it straightened out for me & also got my complimentary $2500.00 insurance policy started & in force for me. So in four to six weeks I'll receive my knife, hopefully!

I believe it was a BARLOW knife. Buck wasn't around back in the middle 1800s.

I just found this post. I received my USA Buck knife the same day the OP did. It has become my EDC as I can open it with one hand - and it is wicked sharp - .
The ILA asked for donations back in August and I sent in $25. Those court cases cost big bucks and I don't mind kicking in a buck or two on occasion!
Then I got the "on back order" notice........
At least I got a USA knife. I do hope the China is good quality??
