Default Got to handle a Sig Sauer P250 today

I recovered a stolen Sig Sauer P250 today. It was reported by the Colorado Springs, Colorado PD as stolen back in 2012. The individual who pawned it is not a suspect as he has paperwork documenting he purchased it from a another pawn shop. It is in 40 S&W caliber.

While I was logging it into property and evidence I handled the gun and checked it for safety.

I found while it seems to be a well made sidearm, I feel it is a little top heavy and muzzle heavy for my taste. Another investigator was there and we were in agreement. Now the benefit of the construction may be better appreciated when actually shooting the gun in that caliber. I can only speculate as it went to P/E and will be shipped to Colorado when the twenty day waiting period is completed.

But first impression, I'll pass. Not hating on any one just not for me.

I hear you! My son and his wife have SIG's and I have that same impression, esp. about their P-229. With a loaded magazine in place, the effect is less pronounced. The SIG's are also pretty thick in tne slide.

I prefer Browning M-35's, CZ-75B's and the Beretta M-92FS in 9mm's. The more recent M-92FS's have a small radius in the back of the grip that makes it fit my hand quite noticeably better than does the fatter M-9.

You've posted that you carry a Glock off duty. What do you wear at work? Just curious.

Thumbs up

That may well be, but I find this 250C works just fine for me. She came with both barrels, 40 S&W installed, and a 357SIG in waiting. Picked up a couple years or so back, she came with 3 magazines- I quickly aquired seven more. The safety is the one holding this piece. May pick up a 9MM conversion just because, at some point. I am all set to reload for her when needed.

Great concept but poorly executed IMO.

Texas Star,

I carry a S&W M&P 45 ACP full size as my duty sidearm.

I have a 250 compact in .45. I find the ergonomics and balance to be great. It is a blast for a range gun and a very proper, reliable carry piece.

Sorry you guys didn't like it. For me it's a pretty darn good fit.
