Is this her "everyday carry piece"?
Reading this article will leave me scratching and shaking my head for days.

According to the report, Lauren Tannehill rented a Nissan Rogue...
The Rogue was then rented to Judith Fleissig...
...Two days after picking the car up, Fleissig’s daughter discovered the gun. “Oh my God, it’s a gun,” Fleissig recalled her daughter saying. “I said, ‘I think I’m going to throw up.’”

Oh, for God's sake! "Throw up?"

And this sentence was included in the article, why?

Gross stupidity (wife), lazy workers (rental car agency), immaturity (finders), and biased reporting (NY Daily News); all in one article.

That gun could've loaded itself, jumped up, and just started shooting.

Next time I rent a car at the airport I will request one that hasn't been cleaned. They may say, take your pick.

Sounds like a good idea for an extra option in rental cars. "I would like the fixed, forward firing, .50 cal. accessory, please."

I think to be fair they should have let us know how many Nissan Rouge's have been used in DUI's and auto accidents.

I can think of a few things that are more likely to be found in the back seat of a rental car that would make me want to throw up.

Maybe Alamo's catchphrase should be "Remember the AR-15."

I didn't see anything in the article about the tricked out optics and other upgrades. That was one nice piece I couldn't forget in the car no matter how wealthy or entitled I become. Joe

That looked to me like a high dollar AR there....had an EoTech sight with the magnifier, kitchen sink front rails, and an upgraded stock. Looked to me to be 2500 to 3 grand worth. I doubt I'd leave something that valuable laying around in a rental car!

Speaking of the Alamo-the last words of Jim Bowie as he gazed upon the thousands of Santa Anna's finest were "I didn't know we were pouring concrete today."

Whenever I rent a vehicle, I request a turret mounted .50 cal ... those puny M4s aren't up for the task.
However, for those who enjoy black rifles, Hertz is running a special NRA-sponsored promo:
"Rent a CAR ..."
