Default Russian Su30 fighters show off at air show...

At a recent air show in Paris, the Russians showed off the incredible maneuverability of their Su30 fighter jets. They did some unbelievable stunts - I thought you might enjoy watching. Go to full screen on this one. Very impressive.

Impressive.
At about the 45 second mark, amazing to see how the pilot can make the aircraft "hover", nose first, pointing to the sky.
Airplane autocross.

In the immortal words of Bullwinkle, "Great gobs o' goo!"

Amazing maneuverability. Looks as if it would have be a thrust-vectoring setup, and probably physically demanding on the pilot to do some of those moves. But then I'm not a pilot or an aeronautical expert.

I believe the first 1:30 or so are RC models, not a real airplane. The manuevers and acceleration are too quick for a full-scale airplane/pilot.

Maybe Indian pilots are also incompetent. You don't necessarily fly one of those thrust directed aircraft, you 'wear' it. The aircraft video has a pair of single engine jets, and then the twin engine monster.

Like the US and its allies don't. ROFLMAO!! Look up Bradley, A-12, Comanche and Littoral Combat Ship for the US. Try Bowman radio, SA-80 and F-111 for the UK. Try G-36 rifle for Germany, the only battle rifle I know that uses a plastic trunnion.

Guys, we really ought to stick to our areas of expertise, neither the Russians or the Chinese are way behind our oldest stealth stuff??? F-117, In fact much of our technology has been "borrowed" by our friends,,,, and much of that is tech from the newest stealth aircraft the F-35...The Russian T-50 that the Indians have been helping finance/engineer/prototype, has taken a deliberate line to accentuate super maneuverability at the expense of "stealth" or more correctly "low observability".

Palladins video show two gyroscope stabilized R/C models attempting to "mimic" the flying properties of the Russian Su-35, which is in fact not only equipped with OVT for thrust vectoring about all three control axis, pitch/roll/yaw, but also displays canards ahead of the main wing to enhance pitch transitions, note the "cobra" maneuver, where the aircraft is pitched to 120 degrees angle of attack, and then rapidly depitched to continue the ACM, hopefully from the six of the opposing team. All in good fun, but we really ought to stick to the truth.
Yes, I'm sure the Indians are unhappy, they had hoped to attain a true fifth gen fighter at a fraction of the price, the T-50 is a beautiful, highly maneuverable aircraft, but its low observability is somewhat compromised by its planform, which is designed to maximize super-manueverabilty. billy magg

The overall combat/development capability of the US and its Allies is very competent, I wouldn't underestimate the capabilities of anybodies military, particularly our own... not saying the current leadership team has any idea of what to do with that capability????? well or anything else for that matter???? billy magg

Default Fantastic plane

The Su30 is a fantastic plane that is more home designed than 'borrowed' like many of their aircraft. It will still be a great plane when it has been superceded by newer designs.

At about 1:06, one of the aircraft, in a loop, deploys it's landing gear. Is this to help tighten the turn?

Was maverick flying it?(Tom cruise)

They do not have the technology. They tried to build a shuttle, they couldn't do it. There so far behind.
