Default Prescription Shooting Glasses

Greetings all:

I've got what may not be a unique eye-protection question. Ask you may know, IDPA rules have recently changed, requiring side shielding on your protective glasses.

I am farsighted and have bifocals. I'm looking to see if anyone knows of good prescription eye protection that could put the bifocals in the top portion of the lenses to allow me to see my sights better.

Drop by any optometrist and talk to the guy who runs the place.

Explain what you want and I'm sure he/she can fix you up with exactly what you describe to them.

I once had a pair made just for shooting and the man in the lab put the exact shade of yellow on the lenses for me. Too bad my prescription changed in a few years and away they went!!

They don't charge a lot of extra.............

Good luck.

My eye doctor is a shooter and said that when the time comes for me he can set up a prescription specifically for shooting and being able to see your sights by shifting the position of the "bifocal" part.

There are also quite a few frames available now that have side pieces that you can attach to turn them into full-blown safety glasses when needed. The combo might be something to check into!
