Nice NID. Case colors look nice too. That gun was made to be shot and enjoyed. I'll bet it'll pattern nicely for you.

Those old Ithaca's were built to last. Good old guns.A real classic.

Very nice looking NID.
I've got a 12ga NID,,not nearly as nice condition and a later mfg. No cocking indicators like yours.
It's on permanent loan it seems and I get to spend some time with it and shoot a some skeet with it every so often when it shows up at the range at our weekly shoots.
Just nice solid SxS's.
I had at one time, a NID 16ga Grade 3-Ejector, SNS trigger, 2 bbl set . Bought it as a parts gun for $125, small parts were literally in a cigar box. Restored the whole thing and it sold for $1500 IIRC.
Good price at the time!

When Ithaca intro'd the NID in '25 or 26, the standard chambers were 2 3/4 on the 12ga.
(2 9/16 in 16,,2 1/2in 20 and 410 and 2 7/8 in the 10ga)
The 20ga was quickly changed to a standard 2 3/4 by '27.
The 16ga didn't get the 2 3/4 chamber till about '34 or '35 IIRC.
Somewhere in there is the 28ga intro too w/a 2 7/8" chamber.I think around the same time as the 3 1/2" 10ga came to be.
(The 500,000 ser# magnum frame guns came later with their longer chambers.)
It's still worth a check as those are what the factory shipped 'unless ordered otherwise'.
