We're on our way to see a doctor about my wife's knee. The swelling's gone down but she says it still feels "wonky."

Yup we die a little more everyday once were over the hump going down hill. We watch the wild life more, enjoy the first cup of coffee every morning while we're on this side of the green. It's life in the fast lane in our minds but we're going at a turtles speed.
I hope the next life is better.

Heading to MN to stay with the Granddaughters for the weekend so Mom & Dad can have an adult weekend in MPLS. Will be fun, probably won't see them again until
Christmas time'
Wish I could have an "adult" weekend. Problem is I'd have to find an adult.

An adult weekend sounds great if I could get the back pain under control. I'd rather be bear hunting.

You know what will make crocs really mellow out and be less agressive? A little...
They will pretty much just eat Doritos and play video games.
Cue Lerch.

Well Rusty, about a month ago I bought one LNIB with all the tools, paperwork, etc, probably neve fired. I decided it was too nice to shoot, so I was looking for a shooter. This latest one is very nice, but not too nice to shoot the heck out of.

I traded a $200.00 guitar amp for this 1989 CPD trade in.
It's a shooter.

I don't know why anyone would just assume that all drifters are wheel gun enthusiasts...I like them, but I prefer my gun fun semi automatic. The ratio I've got of one wheel gun to eighteen semi's is just right for me.

I traded a "stomp box" for this. I loved guitar players with guns.
Incidentally, I have whittled my pile down to 3 shoulder weapons, 5 bottom feeders and 1 that spins. Couldn't be happier.

Like a lot of guys my age I started out on revolvers. The access of the public to semi autos wasn't a peep compared to what it is now. Most of the semi autos commonly seen around were 1911 or target plinkers in .22lr.
But after my return from military service and my introduction to and familiarity with the 1911 I started to be interested. Gradually more and more manufacturers began making semiautomatic pistols in various calibers and for various needs. I eventually found myself owning more and more semi autos.
But about 5 years ago the arthritis in my hands got so bad I was having trouble operating the controls on them. I decided to get a couple of revolvers and brush up on handling and shooting them in case it got so bad that I couldn't handle the Semi auto safely and smoothly.
A funny thing happened.
I fell in love all over again with the wheel guns. I had a couple of really good shooters that I felt very comfortable with. I got lucky and found a Lew Horton 24-3 N-frame .44 spl and a Ruger Sp-101 in .357 mag/.38 spl
A short time later I had a small cancer on my thyroid and half of the thyroid and half of the para thyroid (it had a non malignant mass on it) were removed. Got my thyroid an calcium balance back in controll and after about 4 months I felt better that I had in 10 or 12 years. I got off the pain meds and my hands improved about a thousand percent.
So I am still good to go with my semi autos but I'm not going to let my revolves slip back into being the "gun from yesterday" ever again. They have their place and uses in the hand gun world and they are fun and easy to shoot and maintain.
NOTE: sorry that this was not a drift from the preceding subject but that in itself would be a kind of drift wouldn't it.

It's 3:00 PM CST and I get up at 4:00 AM, so it's Beer Time!
I for one would have never thought of Salt Lake City, Utah as a hotbed of the craft beer scene, but today's selection was brewed there. Utah Brewer Cooperative Squatters Craft Beers Hop Rising Imperial IPA.
This beer has a good balance of malt notes and the hop flavor is almost flora instead of piney. At 9% ABV it has no alcohol flavor. It is definitely a sipping beer. I like it, and would buy it again when I'm feeling like having an IPA. At $7.50 for a 6-pack, it is a bargain.

It is kind of ironic that we would drift in this direction, because not two days ago I was pondering this very subject. I mean that I interact with more than a few people in this thread & I don't even know what a lot of them prefer as far as revolver or semi auto. Not that it matters in the least, it's just something I'm curious about.

I started out as a revolver guy, but I'd say that today my handgun mix is probably 60/40 revolvers/semis. As I think about it maybe 50/50

I am exactly 50/50 between wheelguns and semis. However, I am looking for a 1911 .45 to break the tie as we speak.
I tend to enjoy CZ semis...my most recent...still unfired.

I am in awe of the engineering of both. I view revolvers as "Auburns" and "Cords". Whereas semis are "Vettes" and "Vipers".
As much as I admire the grace and lines of a "Doozy", I am drawn to the matte black sleeper, lopeing at the stop light.
Mr. Browning got it right.

I've had a life long love affair with wheel guns (longer than any marriages or the other kind of affairs) 6 to 2 is the current count. Bought a Browning Buckmark and trying to like the semi auto. Get along pretty good with it. So next, a Sig 320 9mm, so far at the hate/might like stage. Do like it better than some I tried. Practice, practice.

I've got a CZ 97B .45 ACP on the way!
Do some research on it
OOOOOPS! Did I mention a non-S&W on the S&W Forum
Hope I don't get dinged by the mods
