We don't want to alienate drifters who live up in high mountains or on deserts in the middle of the country. Besides, pirates belong out on the ocean, not on a smelly beach. Beach odor does not drift very far offshore. One way mariners know they are drifting in too close the beach in the fog is by the odor of decaying stuff. Rather than a hunting knife I should have bought a cutlass.

Some of the regular drifters may be even more "special" than Snubby. 
Now we have revolver rift-raft and crawling bottom feeders. Fortunately, anti-discrimination laws require the drift to also accept bi- .... bi- ... something or others.
