Revolutionary War began April 19
Battle of Lexington and Concord on this day in history. The history of the war is fascinating to study. America was truly blessed by a group of men and women the like of which may never be matched.

And do you think that MSN.com or yahoo or fox news or cnn or anybody would have something about it on their websites? Not that I saw.... Not like it's an important milestone in the USA's history.
But hey, if you want to know anything about Kim K, or the human barbie, or the latest fashions, it's all there.
smh ( that means Shaking My Head for you old guys.lol)

As a native son, I've seen the reenactment on the Lexington Green many times. It never gets old. To me, it defines the concept of "Stand Your Ground". These men risked everything, everything for Liberty, and a constitutional republic was born. These days, in this state, "Marathon Monday" has replaced it in the public consciousness. This year, it is just beyond the pale.
I try to honor those early patriots' courage and sacrifice every day, and in many ways, generally by a vigorous defense of the Constitution and in particular, as a staunch defender of Article 2 of the Bill of Rights.

In the 1700s they were called Patriots. In the 1800s they were called rebels. Today they're called domestic terrorists.

One of my favorite books is Joseph Plumb Martin's account of his armed service during the Revolutionary War. He joined up when only a teen, and lived to an amazingly old age. He penned his bio long after the fact, and was a remarkably astute and humble narrator. The book is available in paperback, and is required reading for anyone interested in that time period.

And to think that now Massachusetts has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the US!

If I remember correctly April 19 is also the date of Waco or Ruby Ridge, Oklahoma City bombing and my anniversary.

Don't forget to watch TURN, tonight. I THINK this may be where "Major Bolton" might be """arrested""" thus giving him the chance to """"work"""" for the British. But I could be """wrong."""

Thank you for this reminder. Haven't given it a lot of thought as most of my attention has been directed to Easter Sunday Worship services.

Thanks for the reminder OP. I believe the revolution began long before the first shots were fired and I wonder if it was the last time the people will have had to revolt!!
