Default Federal Law Enforcement Agencies

One of many theories offered to explain the continual ammunition shortage has been purchases by federal law enforcement agencies. When thinking federal, we tend to think of the high-profile agencies, namely, the FBI, Secret Service, DEA, Customs and BATFE.

But, there are many others. Anyone contemplating entering federal law enforcement will value the following list. It also lends credence to the widely held fears that the federal government is criminalizing everything.

"OIG" means Office of the Inspector General."

Last I knew, there were just over 100. However, most of them work in very narrow areas and provide expertise based investigation/enforcement.
