Default Model 29 Specs.

Dear knowledgeable members,
I just made a specification table of Model 29 for my reference.
Could you check and correct them if you find something wrong?

1st - .44 Magnum (Pre-29): 5-screw; Coke bottle grips; Counter bored cylinder; Pinned barrel; Barrel length are 4” and 6.5” only (in the catalog, I am aware of rare 5” or 5.5”); Deformed ‘&’; Front sight blade and ramp are one block and fixed to barrel with two pins.

2nd - Model 29 (non-dash): 4-screw; Coke bottle grips; Counter bored cylinder; Pinned barrel; Barrel length are 4”, 6.5” and 8 3/8”; Deformed ‘&’; Front sight blade and ramp are one block and fixed to barrel with two pins.

3rd - Model 29-1: The same as non-dash 29?

4th - Model 29-2: 3-screw; Standard target grips without diamond center; Counter bored cylinder; Pinned barrel; Barrel length are 4”, 6.5” and 8 3/8”; Normal shaped ‘&’; Front sight blade is separate and fixed to ramp which is integrated with barrel using a pin.

5th - Model 29-3: 3-screw; Standard target grips without diamond center; NO-counter bored cylinder; NO-pinned barrel; Barrel length are 4”, 6” and 8 3/8”; Normal shaped ‘&’; Front sight blade, ramp and barrel are integrated.

In addition, I am glad if you could correct my English if you feel strange! Thank you.

Some 44 Magnums were made with 4- and 5- screw frames but no Model 29s were made with a 5-screw frame.

29-1 Theoretically change from RH to LH threads on the extractor rod and extractor.

Some 29-2s did have Coke-bottle stocks and some had "Diamond Targets," too.

Etc., etc.

Unfortunately, making up a little crib-sheet like this is not so simple because changes did not stop/start cleanly with the ECO numbers. You'll have to do some more research and make some more additions.

The 6 inch barrel was started with late 29-2s.
