We are that close! She says basic warrior training is like a painful video game with more hurting and less Doritos. I kinda think she likes it.

Last week of bustle to get gone. Her leave will be shorter than expected. I hate listening to the news about the Middle East. My mind draws irrational conclusions. I digress....

I'm taking a camera... A real one not this phone bit. I'll share !

Neighbor Wrench,

I know you are proud of her, we all are here too. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the "real" camera pics. Please tell her "Thanks for Her Service" from me. Have a great trip and enjoy your MARINE.

My best wishes, too. She has accomplished something known only by the "few".

"...a painful video game with more hurting and less Doritos"?

That's nice. The girl has a way with words.

Wonder where she gets that?

I hope you can avoid dwelling on the Middle East and just enjoy her achievement and the maturing you'll observe in her.

Give her a hug for all of us here, and get those pictures!

Just be careful when you run up and hug her.

Have you ever hugged a rock?

Can you follow her outfit online? When Jay went through there was a website that shared what they were doing and at what stage of the Crucible they were at. There was also a message blast when they finished up and got pinned. Kind of exciting to follow........

Good job and congratulations. Now she has to post her entire career on this forum. See what you did.

I have to say the business in the middle east will never quiet down, so don't fret to much. You haven't told us what Jar Wrench is going to do as a Marine??

Wink

When one of our daughters graduated from Navy basic at Great Lakes, we all attended the ceremony. We took her out to dinner later and she fell asleep at the table. Don't be surprised if Baby Wrench does the same thing.

Glad she made it!

Graduation day from basic at Ft. Carson in 1960. Was one of the greatest days of my life. I was 7' tall, bulletproof and could leap tall buildings in a single bound. Or at least felt like I could.

Congrats to her! It's a day she won't forget.

That should open a lot of doors when she gets out, unless she decides to be a career Marine. Maybe then too.

Cap,

Is her graduation day on the 28th? For some reason I thought that graduations were always on a Friday.

Please extend my congratulations to her for her achievements and success. This will always be an important milestone for her for her entire life.

Semper Fidelis!

How did I miss this?

I truly wish you could all be there, but we are offsite for the shindig and my mom has already turned in a head count by now.

We'll have to settle for pictures.
