NRA Endowment Membership
When I upgraded to my life membership the cost was $1000. This was at the time right after Sandy Hook, and right after I paid, they dropped the cost to $250. Today they sent me an email stating that I had a $750 credit, and for $250 I could bump my level. Just updated my profile Please help out if you can afford it!
Thank you for becoming an Endowment Life Member of NRA!
As an Endowment Life Member, you will enjoy your regular NRA membership benefits for life. In the next few weeks you will receive your Endowment Life Member credentials package, including your Life Member card, certificate, shooter's patch, lapel pin and decal – all attesting to your new leadership role in NRA.
You will also receive our multi-compartment ballistic nylon Tactical Briefcase as a special thank you for your steadfast commitment to the cause of freedom.
Once again, thank you for becoming an NRA Endowment Life Member. I am grateful for your NRA support every day.
Sincerely,
Wayne LaPierre
Executive Vice President

Even though I have upgraded more than once. . .
I choose to donate every year to ILA and PVF since the issues we face are an ongoing battle. I realize some previous decisions bothered owners. That is why I also give what I can to state groups even if not from MY area.
The funding against us owning even a browning hi power, 629, or m&p compact is substantial, well organized, and many times free through MSM pieces. Look at how NY city has reportedly handled tubular feed semi automatic 22 rifles. Recall the vicious response Popular Mechanics generated from that first firearm article. This threat is a slow creep that will one day impact future generations.
My situation is single paycheck feeding a kind of nuclear family.

Was a Life member from 1972.
Several years ago they sent me that for $300 I could go to Endowment,
Next year for the same $300 upgrade to Patron.
Next year upgrade to Benefactor for $300.
Heck, why not?
Gave my grandson a life membership for his birthday last year, $300...

Please do any or all of the following:
1. Join the N.R.A
2. Become a Life Member
3. Upgrade your status to Patron, Endowment and Benefactor. It really means something.
4. Contribute monthly to PVF and ILA, N.R.A.'s political wings. It is THAT important!
From NYC originally, I've been fighting the antis for over 40 years. Letters, phone calls, emails, speaking to legislators in person, donations... It must be done so we can continue our interests under the Second Amendment. It is so easy now to contact a legislator via email, please do it!

We can fight all we want. As long as no one understands that people are the problem and not the tool that they use when they go haywire, we always gonna have (powerful) people that want to take our rights away.
And, if people don't want to understand you can talk your mouth bloody, they will not change their mind. Never.
So all we can do is to educate and offer solutions to the problem (people). Just saying "guns are good, now leave us alone" or "It's my right, I do what I want!" is not gonna do it...
Not saying this is what's going on in the NRA, but some people do show this attitude.

Jorge: Have I been bad in "fighting the antis for 40 years"? Have I done anything wrong? You seem to take a dim view of my efforts. Perhaps had you lived in NYC with endless attempts by legislators and the Police Department at additional restrictions, you would have thought differently.
Have a nice day.

I'm sorry if I made it sound like you did anything wrong. That was not my intend. I did not try to talk down your efforts. English is my 2nd language and sometimes my words come out wrong, or rather not exactly right
What I was trying to say is that this "fighting" gets frustrating at times. Especially when people don't want to listen/understand.
It's hard work to find the right words in making people understand that firearms are not bad. Bad people that do bad things with them are bad. That's the problem we need to take care of. Not restricting law-abiding citizens with more and more legislation. Criminals don't care abt. laws... we know that.
It just seems endless and with every stupid gun owner or criminal doing something stupid we start over, and the antis seem to get stronger thereby.
Again, I apologize if it came out like you didn't do enough.

That's because only one side, our side is fighting. Anti-freedom forces have a great apparatus along with multitudes of "useful idiots" and occasional, inevitable "aberrant actions involving firearms" to achieve their agenda. Unfortunately, many necessary "fights" are not "fair." Joe

I got the same e-mail except it was for Benefactor. Hopefully, I'll be able to afford it before the August 1 expiration of the offer.

Jorge, It's all good. Don't sweat it. As we say in French: Esta bien. No se preocupe.
I perceive 2 rather large problems: (1) Too many young folks seem not at all interested in firearms. They prefer to live in cities nowadays and perceive firearms to be inimical to their lifestyle.
(2) The ever-growing trend by all levels of government to use 9/11 as an excuse to diminish our liberties. True, there are more "shall issue" jurisdictions, but there are also more "gun-free zones," premises with "no weapons" signs, and body searches at more places, including baseball stadiums. Let me stop...
Kaaskop49
P.S. BTW, your English is fine for a 2nd language, better than my Spanish, German or Russian. My French is another story!
