Smile Got my new American Rifleman

New AR came a couple of days ago and it had an article about the discountinued Ruger Red Hawk O/U, it was dropped a couple of years ago when the retail price hit 2000. It has been re-introduced after re looking at the manufacturing process, they had re-enginered some internals and have got the retail price at 1200 now, it looks a little better with some changes but an American o/u at that price should put them back in the game. I know this is a pistol revolver site but there are lots of shot gun fans here. Sorry about the red hawk, its a Red Label and only in 12 ga. now. Jeff

The Redhawk is a revolver...the Ruger O/U shotgun is called the Red Label. They also made a nice side by side for a while called the Gold Label.

Bought a 12 ga. Red Label new @ 20 years ago. I sold it a few years later. They were notorious for the recoil causing the stock to kick up right into your face. I had a few molars loosened when shooting trap with it, plus some bruising.

Hmmm, interesting. I shot skeet with mine a few times but never experienced that, that I can recall. I found it to be a tad cumbersome and heavy compared to a nice Browning or Beretta. I still have mine but it hasn't been out of the safe in years and I plan to sell it soon.

We also got a lot of asking for money in this issue.
