Default Hopefully bad things only come in three's

As the saying goes, bad things come in three's. I really hope that's the case. I recently had to go in for bypass surgery, that's one. The day before my surgery, a water line broke in my basement soaking the wall which now needs repair, that's two. I came home the other night to find my wife setting in her car in tears, she backed into the garage door leaving it beat, battered, and abused, that's three.

At some point it's bound to get better.

I get scared when things go good. I had a number of good things happen lately. Finally got my airplane after a 30 lay off, flew it home and some other personnel good things that come about. I hate seeing all the dead deer around here hit by vehicles and even made a brag online recently that I had never hit one. I had just told Theresa several times lately things have been going so good I am getting scared. Then thursday we went for a ATV ride, I had a mechanical problem and was nurseing it home. Really thought we would be sleeping on bushs as we were 30 miles from nowhere of steep rough country. Then a tire started going flat! A few seconds later a doe ran out with her fawn following and I hit the fawn! It was suffering and I had to shoot it. Theresa was hysterical! She loves animals and is the reason I quit hunting. It was bad and I really, really hated having to shoot the poor bleating fawn in front of her! We were lucky though, a kind person drove us thirty miles back to our truck and trailer. Guess thats life. I still dont know the exact mechanical problem with the rzr, will get the news tuesday. Just looking at these things is nose bleed expensive but we are alive.

The bypass surgery is indeed bad. Be glad, however, that modern technology and medicine has made such surgery routine.

I don't even count things like a flooded basement or a damaged car/garage door anymore. Those things are just "incidents" in my book. That's just "stuff," and stuff can be replaced.

Odd that you should mention threes, just today...... Our future daughter in law lives 2 hours away and called asking my wife the RN to please check on her grandpa who just started chemo and was feeling discomfort.

My wife went over, did an assessment, called the contact number for him and ended up speaking with his Dr. All is OK, she then realized she locked her keys in her car. My wife then called me, for an assessment of course. I tried having her hold her cell phone next to her car and I hit my open button. No success. I drove over and unlocked her car. She said thanks and I have to go inside to get my stuff see you at the house.

I just set down to take care of a personal medical event and wifey calls. She says guess what, I did not take my keys out of the car and it is locked. Can you come get me in again? After the event dear.

This time I pulled up, used my key fob and waited. She rolled down her window and said I'm OK you can head on home. I said oh no, not until you are in the street and moving.

The car has the new electronics, when you are in the car all you need to do to start it is, have your key fob, depress the brake and hit a little button that says start. 3 steps. Well it is almost brand new and wouldn't start. She keeps trying stuff and finally it starts. She follows me home. Threes.... Hmph.

Hope your surgery went well.
