I buy black and tan caps and Dollar Tree (last year I got 12 black and 6 tan so I'm set for a long time). I wear the black ones at work (security) when it's raining or cold. When they look worn, in the trash they go.
For $1, they fit me great. I guess I have a cheap head

I vaguely remember being there back in the 60's for a race when I was in the Army. Something about a bottle of Jim Beam comes to mind.

I don't wear.......
I don't wear hats enough to get one pleasingly nasty. Ones that I have are a tweed cap and an Indiana Jonesesque all-weather hat. I have a straw hat someone gave me. It probably qualifies as a nasty hat because I used it in a skit once and put an arrow through it.

Nasty hats! Don't get me started! Wear a baseball cap always. I have "dress" nasty hats and "working around the house" nasty hats. Dress nasty hats get washed about every 2 weeks and working around the house every month.

Laguna Seca is on the Ft. Ord Reservation. Maybe our paths crossed - I took my Basic Training at Ft. Ord in 1969.

One of the funniest things I've seen in awhile was a short bit on "Blue Collar Comedy". Larry is talking to a beautiful blonde, takes off his hat and sticks it under her nose and says, "Don't that stank?" She recoils like it was wired with 10,000 volts. My wife bought a plastic frame that holds baseball caps for washing in the dishwasher. When the flies start to land on the brim I figure it's due for wash.

I have many hats, ball caps, straws and such and these old Dollar Store hats are my go to hat. Softest fabric around the brim I ever saw.

Is it just me, or does Bill Bates look an awful lot like Hoss Cartwright in that bird hunting photo?
Sorry, had to yank your chain on that one! BTW, very nice shotgun, 20 or 28?

That would be my working around the house hat. Don't have any "lucky" hats. If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any. I used to have a "lucky" t-shirt. I shot a lot of trap & skeet. It was getting pretty ragged. Moved several states away with a job move. I think the ex burned it or threw it out with the move. End of the adventure.

I see new caps in stores and such, that are sold with rips, and tears, same with Jeans so guess old nasty worn hats and jeans are now stylish?

The Parker Reproduction is a 20 Gauge. I, like Hoss, do like my hats a little on the tall side.

I've got a few that Ms. Judy no longer lets me wear in public. After a few pack trips and round ups, they start lookin' pretty darn good. Here are a couple of my favorites.

I was told by my skin doctor after I lost my nose due to skin cancer I should be wearing a hat instead of my baseball caps. I do have a pile of each and know I should be wearing my hats but my main activity is riding the trails in our RZr. I couldnt keep a hat on 10 feet! On top of that its hot here in summer and I wear shorts. A cowboy hat just doesnt go with shorts on a fat 73 year old! I do have them though!
This kepi is one of my favorites. Bought it to keep my head when trail riding in turkey season.

My eyes ait too good today, is that a Kepi? I always wanted one but figured idlook too weird wearing one--unless it was grey in color with a yellow band and crossed sabres on the front.

This hat was from the first Canadian fly-out fishin' trip with Kabeelos's in the extreme far west part of Ontario in 2000. It don't look too bad in this pic because it's new but it turned out to be my most favoritest hat I ever had and and I wore it until it was little more than a dirty rag with a frayed bill and no legible printing on the front.
I don't have any other pics of it but trust me, it was disgusting there towards the end.
Sometimes Miss Pam would throw it in the garbage when I wasn't watchin' and I'd go to put it on and couldn't find it I just searched all the trash cans until I found it. She finally got it in the big bag about a half hour before the guys in the big truck came around. I still mourn for it. See, when you get to be my age what something looks like doesn't really matter. It's how it FEELS that is important.

Ringo, that hat is a stetson labeled "Tom Mix" on the inside. A western store was going out of business and I bought it for half price maybe 15 years ago in california. It doesnt look good on me. I had a "Challenged" nephew that loved everything cowboy. I was his guardian. My wife snapped this picture of me giving it to Matt in 2004. Unfortunately he died a few months later and I took it back. Also a picture of me poseing in it. I never had the nerve to wear it downtown. I bought the orange kepi at ace hardware a few years ago.

That Stetson is a quite nice looking hat.The Gentleman in the photo looks natural wearing it.:-)I HAD a black Cowboy hat at one time--but gave it away when i was in Germany back in 2000.I gave it to a 7 foot tall German dude who looked like a classic biker--but nice as can be. This guy ran an Antique store in Goslar--well,he looked better wearing it than I did.
Im still pondeing getting a "Hondo" hat.

My current yardwork hat. At one time it was a uniform olive color. Now it's... not. It was still damp from this morning and felt disgusting to pick up, and I'm the one who wears it.

I can't show mine as it was blown off my head when brush hogging and got chewed up. It was the last decent present my work gave me too.
I just got an NRA cap in the mail for reupping early. I noticed it was made in China though and not sure I even want to wear it now.

My favorite hat was another very old black stetson. I think I bought it in 1962 in Roswell New Mexico. Some very old man ran some type of old mens wear store I think. He looked close to 80 at the time. He dug around for awhile and pulled out a stetson box with a good 1/16th of a inch dust on the box. I bet that stetson was from anywhere between 1920 to 1940! It was new in the box and was the style of old timey pictures you see from the early 1900`s. The crown and brim werent as big as the tom mix. I loved that hat! It wasnt a cheap grade either. Some years later I made the mistake of leaving it out in my house. I had two dogs in the house and when I came home it looked more like a welders beenie! Somewhere I do have a picture of me standing in front of the OK Corral in Tomestone wearing it. That was my favorite of all them. Right now I also own a "Charlie One Horse" Stetson Identical to the one I have seen Don Williams wear on his albums. However I have a 1/2" tare in the brim but I wont throw it out. I bought that one in the late 80`s in Virginia city Nev. I also own a fancy straw version of it, also a Charlie One Horse made by stetson.

My summer hat and my winter hat. I wore a ball cap until I was 50. That's when I got some serious skin cancer on my face so went to some wider brims. I have about a dozen hats but these are broke in and the ones that get worn the most.

Been wearing baseball style caps for years. Gotta keep the bald spot covered. Got one from the chevy dealer when I bought my truck. That was my walking around town hat. Not it's the one I wear when bushogging the grass and keeps the hearing protectors on my head. I'm not partial as to whose hat I'll wear. Kubota, O'reily auto parts, anywhere they are free. Frank

I didn't see any real nasty hat's here, I had a real nasty hat but my wife tossed it out, the S&W hat is getting there, give it another 10 years and it will be nasty.

There've been a few more since this picture. A few on the shelf too. Can't understand why this closet doesn't smell too nice.

I don't use my dishwasher. I would throw it in the sink, a little Dawn, a vigorous scrubbing with the vegetable brush, rinse thoroughly, hang from a coat hanger on the shower head and it will be good to go.
It's a S&W hat. Be kind to it!

Don't have a bald spot. I got a Ford hat when I bought my F-150 in '07. That's my current nasty walking around hat. It just feels comfortable. Real faded from a lot of washing.
