A while back I posted some comments about my Chevy Silverado truck transmission. Just thought I would bring you up to date:


SO FAR, they have Greased the yoke............no change, changed the yoke...........no change, removed the pan and checked the valve body......no change, removed the pan again and re-checked the valve body....no change, pumped the transmission.......no change, adjusted the ring-gear and pinion....no change.

GM Field Engineer came and test drove the truck......no change, they have during the past week received 4 more 2013's with same problem.

GM Engineer test drove these and confirmed the problem.

Finally, yesterday, they said it is NOT a yoke problem, It is NOT a slippage problem, it is NOT a rear-end differential problem,......YEP.....as I tried to tell them from the start it is a transmission problem.

They now say that, exactly as I initially told them, the transmission is NOT shifting correctly.....wow.....makes you realize why they have 33 million recalls now.

End result....they now tell me that it is indeed a 2013 transmission problem and GM is working on a solution......and.......will put out a bulletin to that effect.

Stay tuned, I'll keep you up to date on it.

Start saving your receipts and look for a lemon law attorney. It's pretty cut and dried, after so many failed attempts to resolve they buy it back.

Sometimes this is the only language they understand.

I had the pleasure of going through this with a 2009 CTS at a dealer I bought and leased a dozen cars from over the course of 25 years. All I wanted was for them to make it right and when I realized that just wasn't going to happen I suggested that I would look into the lemon law, he just didn't care one way or the other so I did.
They didn't buy it back like they should have but offered enough for me to terminate the lease.
Next stop Lincoln dealer who was happy to have a new customer.
Bye Bye GM, no wonder you're having problems.

Don't tread on me

The big car makers don't like buying motors or trannys for people regardless of the warranty wording. I watched a friend go through years of aggravation and expense to get covered on a new car transmission. More people with the same problem help your cause, good luck.
