Why can't they find and shut down Rachel from Credit Card Services?

There have been numberous threads and comments regard those annoying robo scam calls that everyone receives.

They've even started using "spoofing" to defeat caller ID. Many times their call will appear as your own phone number or as someone with whom you are connected.

I have to believe that our federal "government" (whose primary reason for existence is to protect its citizens) could stop this in a New York minute if they had the will to do so.

Maybe if they'd use just a few "FLOPS" of the computing power in their $2B NSA facility in Utah... Rachel and friends would be history.



BTW... That heathen Rachel interrupted my much needed nap yesterday afternoon.

Our calls come from Brigette, Carmen and Lisa. Three or four a day.

Also, how can we get Marie Osmond off TV. When they spend multi-millions on that much advertising, their products sure must be WAY overpriced.

For sure, we get about the same number and have for 3 months now. Been on the do not call registry since its inception and NYS do not call list. In fact just about 6 weeks ago I reentered the info again just in case. Try to get a state or federal officials to do anything is ridiculous thay want all sorts of info which we cannot get. you press the button to be connected to the service the telepests shill for and it’s set up so that you are initiating the call and as soon as they know you’re looking for information they hang up quick.

We do not have cell here and must use LL phones. I’m at my whit’s end about this outfit and the lack of ability of the do not call people to stop this. I assume this nonsense come from out of the country.

Other than the above named females I have also gotten dozens of THIS IS YOUR SECOND AND LAST REMINDER. About your credit card account.
I would love to have the power to authorize a drone strike on where those calls come from.

I've been answering the calls lately.
Whether it's a man or woman:

They hang up immediately -- Unfortunately they also call back again and again.

Another - *I don't get it*
Do they think that if they call often enough you'll finally give them your Visa card number, SSN, and mom's maiden name?

I usually try to have a conversation with them. I talk about stocks and bonds and ask if they are interested in investing any of their money with me. Some have even ask questions about how much of a return they can expect.
Sometimes I blow my dog training whistle 3 or 4 times and when I start another conversation they are gone. Old people can have fun too.

You guys are lucky, I hardly ever get a human any more it’s all that recorded robocall nonsense. Even the political calls (Which are just as bad sometimes) imploring you to vote for their candidate or sometimes the candidate him/herself.

At least if it’s a pest human I can make comments about the fact that they did not graduate JR high school and their mother and father were not married or other pleasantries.

I waste as much of the callers time as possible and lead them on as much as I can, however I can. If they call back I repeat the process until they quit calling . If that does not work I am very rude.

I see that "Microsoft technical support" that monitors our computers looking for problems and calls when they find one has now shifted to a robo-call system where you have to press "1" to talk to them.
Must be that they have finally gotten tired of folks wasting their time by not responding like they want. (Or they have run out of semi- legible English speakers to man their phone bank. The robo-caller speaks without an accent....)

Don't get the phone call's although I don't answer the phone even if I get a call unless I know the number, and am smart enough to know I can't call myself so if my number shows up then I know it a spoof.

Now How to stop the spam mail. I only get on this forum and research firearm and ammo and don't open any spam mail which is easy to spot. Now the little lady goes to the social sites so I guess that's where they come from.

Heck we've been offered jobs from all the fortune five hundred companies, car insurance that they want to pay us to take, free mickey D's food, Cosco, amazon, all the people wanting to let us know "You have to see these photo's and news's reports about opera and Martha Stewart" and we can't forget about the sister of the president of one of the African countries wanting to give us money if we would only cash a check and send her a small percentage for a finders fee. Oh I forgot about the fellow that made millions in a manufacturing company and said he made a promise to Jehovah that if he got rich he would send a largo amount to a deserving person. Still waiting for the position offer as president for S&W.

I enjoy asking them to hang on for a minute as I put the phone down and walk away.

Back to back World War Champs.

True story here. I rented an apartment on the other side of town back in 2003. The person(s) who lived there before me owed God knows how manybusinesses and such--of course neglected to change their address too. Well, somehow this one pace managed to get my then phone number (public records I guess?)and started calling me about owing $3,000 dollars for a Coo Coo Clock,and a pair of sunglasses that had diamonds embedded in them. After numerous attempts to tell them I wasnt the ones they were looking for--which failed--I started ignoring their calls. Several months passed an I heard nothing--then one night--I got a call after 9PM--which is illegalfor those types) and was from India. The fellow on the other end of the the line claimed his name was Steven or johnny or Schmoo? and had the thickest accent I ever heard. I politely told him they had the wrong number and that I couldnt understand more than a few words he spoke.

I hung up, and a fewminutes later-ggot another call from theplace-this time a emale who spoke much better english. I explained to her what the sitrep was? she said she would fix the prob--which I guess she did but--the problem arse again a few months later.

By that time, my paitence was wearing to transparent thinness, and since i love old TV shows--in this case it was COMBAT--I recorded loudly on the answering machine--the opening artillery barrage from one if the episodes fromrom th TV series. That barrage scene lasted about 1 minute. Well, I turned the volume up on the phone and--I laughed by hind end off everytime the Indians caled and listened to the barrage.

I changed that to soemthing from onne of the Simpsons cartoons that I had taped--was hilarious. It was soemthing like: Bart called up Moes Tavern and had told him he was looking for: C More Butts. Moe asked around and said soemthing like> Is therie a Butts here? Butts? Butts? I need a C. More Butts--to whih bart started laughing and greatly irritated Moe who threatend Bart with some mayhem. Anyway, after that one--I never received another call from the Indians.

Got a call from Rachel, too. She even left me a message on my voice mail, said she could give me the best offer to lower credit card interest. Thought I'd say NO, but I remembered, she was an automated message. No live person to talk to.

By the way, Rachel used this phone number 775-410-1104 to call me. When I looked it up, I found a bunch of similar complaints at 7754101104 - Card Services, Reno, NV - page 4/5 shared by others who received . I also found different phone numbers supposedly used by "Rachel" too. This gives me the impression that her company must be making a lot of money from scamming people to afford several phone lines.
