Heart attack grill
People are literally dying to eat here.
I've been trying to lose weight but if you're over 350 pounds you can eat here for free.
It seems kinda twisted to me but he is honest about what he's serving.
Kinda sad but gluttony sells.

We saw this place on one of the food shows. I keep telling my wife that just because it is bigger doesn't make it better tasting. I see it as damning evidence to the rest of the world of the grotesque waste in American culture. Celebrating gluttony does not put us in the best light.

I've seen that on TV. It's a free country and people make their own decision. The one that's building that kind of business and the other one that's eating there. No one is force to do so.
I certainly wouldn't eat there, but the free 72oz steak (if you finish it) at the Big Texan Steak Ranch in Amarillo, TX sounds tempting...

Didn't the owner die?
Lard spread on bread I'll pass.
Give me a cheese burger with bacon lettuce and tomato and mayo. No freaking lard.
My pup (lab) likes a plain cheese burger and a carvel vanilla cone. Not all the time.
I went from 390# to 315# now with 65# more to go. It's simple cut your meals in half. Plus keep busy so you don't eat. I did work like two people carrying 240# steel rails all day long.

Are the hospital gowns optional or to save time if you are carried out on a stretcher?

I honestly want to try one of these. Not only do I consider it a challenge, I want to see if they are any good.
From what I've seen, I might make a scene by falling to the ground crying and screaming out "I AM NOT WORTHY!!!"

I believe the owner was some sort of doctor, maybe even heart surgeon, and got tired of patients not following his advice so decide to "switch sides" so to speak and rather than try to convince people to get healthy would instead feed the beast.

The place closed over a year ago shortly after their main spokesperson succumbed to a heart attack. The owner wasn't a doctor, he just liked to play dress-up with hot nurses.

Old report but says here Heart Attack Grill "spokesperson" dies from heart attack, owner says - CBS News that it was a spokesperson and not the owner who died and at least one location may have closed (perhaps not permanently). Seems that there is a link to fitness in the owners past but not doctor (my earlier post was based on something I was told a couple years back that apparently was not from a reliable source) http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heart_Attack_Grill

The original owner was actually a dietician, and owned a restaurant selling 'good' food. The problem was that nobody wanted to eat it.
When he decided to play for the other side he sure swung for the fence!

Years ago my Doc told me...
"If it tastes bad, it's probably good for you"
I like their motto...
"Eat what you want, die like a man"
Merica....

The original one was here in the Phoenix burb of Chandler. I ate once. First off, it's got a whole 50's theme going, with the servers as 'nurses', with their costumes straight outta Hustler, or Victoria's Secret. So, eye-candy is/was part of the draw, LOL.
I had a single w/fries. The burger was delicious, and you really couldn't tell much difference, say, from a quality Carl's Jr. It's the fries that you notice. They cook 'em longer, and they are then dumped into a big stainless warming tray. They're all-u-can-eat, but piled-on, with the fresh fat dripping down to the bottom, you can get an awful lotta grease going for the last serving or two...yucks.
Really, it's no different than McDonald's of yesteryear. Thirty years ago, at my first job, fries, Filet-O-Fish, and pies were all fried in pure lard. That's why they tasted so DARNED GOSH GOOD!
