Well since I can't find S&W revolvers I bought Ruger.
Walked into the LGS and I heard it call for me. A Ruger Single Six Hunter in 22 mag and 22lr. Seven & one half inches of 22mag/22lr sweetness, with Ruger Rings to boot. All I need are some trees with squirrels in them and things would be right with the world.

Have fun; dollar for dollar Ruger is the best deal out there.
Yes I have Rugers, My first pistol (still have it) back in 72 was a Ruger, same reason you have could not find a S&W I wanted.
Have had other Rugers and now have a few rifles in the safe.

You did good. Can't ever think of a Ruger I have owned that didn't do exactly like it was supposed to. Rifle or handgun, Ruger makes a tough product.

There are few names that I trust at face value. S&W and Ruger are among them.
Good choice!

A small town pawnshop had a gun sale and I found a 99%-mint 1973 Ruger 4" blue Security Six with perfect original grips for $317. I got it home and thought it was a really cool old gun that looks like it would last forever. But then I held it next to my M-66 and after handling the two side by side, I wrapped the Ruger in an old T-shirt and listed it on Armslist for $495. Though the Rugers are good solid guns, it is no wonder why Smith sold a HECK of a lot more K-frames!

Congrats on the purchase

I have a number of rugers. Overall they are my favorite rifle and and I also like their handguns.
If you want to attract squirrels, put out a bird feeder, and soon you will a a whole tribe of the pesky tree rodents stealing from it. When I was stationed in El Paso we went out in the desert and sniped jack rabbits.

I'll have to plant some trees first before I put out some bird feeders.

I am going to pick up a Springfield Armory Range Officer, as there were no Smiths in stock. Springfield makes a very good quality 1911's.

Nothing against Rugers, but Collector's Firearms in Houston has every S&W revolver that you would like (except a Model 28) in stock.

S&W doesn't offer a single action revolver right?
Wether you shoot a double action in single action it's not the same. Being in Texas I'm thinking there's something special about a western style SA revolver.
Congrats on the single six its an awesome shooter enjoy.
