Even the Russians (Imperial and Communist) detested traitors, even though they employed them, and would feed those they caught into a furnace... alive. Those that defected to them were NEVER trusted or accepted (I'm thinking of the scumbag Philby). 3 hots and a cot was way too good for walker (little "w" on purpose). Ivan

You mean like-
Edward Lee Victor Howard (27 October 1951 – 12 July 2002) was a CIA case officer who defected to the Soviet Union.
He was under surveillance in Santa Fe, NM. The FBI got sloppy and Howard was able to evade them and escape to Russia.
I said Good riddance! Saves us time and money.
He died from a fall in his house in Russia. What?

I remember Howard disappearing but I hadn't heard anything else about him.
