Default Sons of Anarchy

Starts tonight.

Any guesses on body count for the season? I say at least 50.

Are you referring to the TV series or the denizens of The Lounge?

I'm still mourning Clay. I liked Clay. I feel he was just misunderstood by the younger members, that's all. Piney was just an accident. Can't wait to see it.

For a three patch club, they have more drama than Days Of Our Lives.

It got just a little too unbelievable to hold my attention some time ago. Let's see...a little club is tangled up with the local sheriff's department, ATF, FBI, Homeland Security, IRA, DEA, the drug cartel and a few regional gangs. What's next...zombies?

Clay was misunderstood? Piney was just an accident? Are we watching the same show?

I want to watch it but I've been watching all the old episodes to refresh my memory for the new/last season. Might just record it, finish the old ones, then watch it. Or I might just say the heck with it and watch it tonight. Last seasons finale was craaaaaaazzzzyyyy, I can only imagine what's coming next!

It's TV, entertainment for the masses, give everybody a chance to shed their boring day to day lives and live vicariously through the boob tube. You didn't expect realism, did you?
I dig the zombie idea, though. That might push SOA over the top... syndication.... three or four more seasons... yeah, might just be the ticket! Heck, calmex might even get Clay back for a couple of episodes!

Five it was. Three pastors and a lady of the evening, plus one of Lin's guys.
Maybe six if the guy Jax was carving up in prison was gone.

The 1% ers I knew just wanted to ride and drink.
I did watch the series though.
Nice to see Bobby from NYPD Blue lives on in his new life.
I guess we grand-pas need a real life.

At the table, I think Tig said they "dragged" the information out of him. So I'm guessing he survived the ride.

The new Sheriff is a mom at my kid's school..she told me it's even hard for her to watch with all the graphic violence...I agree it's bit out there sometimes, but I'm in till the end.

Ladder13,
My friend had statues of your three monkeys (chimps) but his set included a fourth monkey holding his crotch. I thought it was very funny. His wife thought otherwise.

Question

This week on "As the Anarchy Churns": Jax has his boys dig up an old stinker to find his wife in time for August, giving Tig a nasty stomach ache. Meanwhile a Juicy situation continues to fester. We see that ice cream is da bomb as things get hot with a blast in Charming.Tig was on Venus while the Chinese shot the Dickens (Kim) out of the new "Massage Parlor", then to end our show the new Sheriff wants to be beamed up by Mr. Scott, AKA Chibbs.

Default Body count

I've lost track but after the shootout at the massage parlor I think they have exceeded the pre show estimate of 50.

Yeah, yeah YEAH. I know it's boob tube fantasy.

But I still need a semblance to reality or I simply lose interest.

The members have killed so many people yet they are STILL there. Sorry but too unbelievable for me to watch anymore.

The sneakers, which I agree seems impractical, are based on the real life biker Curt Sutter modeled the character after. The actual biker, who is now deceased really wore white sneakers.

Is it just me or is anyone else hoping to see one of them on the phone to agent in charge saying, "... yeah, let's take 'em down. I have enough evidence now."

Sutter is so twisted there's no telling what will happen to Gemma. Just as likely that Gemma rides off into the sunset with the grandkids to start another club...

Salesman at the local Harley dealer told me that the Street Glide is the hottest selling Harley model these days....due to Sons of Anarchy. I wouldn't know....I don't watch it.

How about Kim Coates (Tig)?
The French kissing scene with Tig and Venus is enough to gag a maggot.

I do get the feeling both actors find the whole thing to be quite amusing and get their kicks grossing out much of th audience.

Well... trying to keep up with body count already drained the battery dead in my calculator so I've given up on that.

So... where does the Gemma/Jucie thing go from here?

Never watched it,....... and at the risk of offending someone, I just don't understand a program that glorifies 1% ers and their antics. Having worked and dealt with our local Chapter of the Outlaws MC I KNOW what they are about,....... I've also attended many Bike Weeks and Biktoberfests and never had an issue with them as when I was off,.. I was OFF. I know that their hey day is pretty much over and they rarely wear their colors as they are " legitimate ", now so they say. Whats the draw to the show? I'm open to being educated.

The show isn't about glorifying 1%ers. It depicts far more failure, misery and death of 1%er than anything else. It's like saying Breaking Bad was about glorifying drug dealers. It's on Netflix. Try it, you may like it.

I hope nothing bad happens to Jemma. I like Jemma. I feel she is just misunderstood by the younger members, that's all. Tara was just an accidental over-reaction. I refuse to believe she's the evil witch and the cause of all the wrong-doing within SAMCRO like my wife says she is.

If you want to believe that. I look forward to seeing what happens.

I'm surprised Gemma didn't try to kill juice sooner, considering how unstable he is and the fact the he is the only one who knows her little secret.

Love the show, but here's what I don't get.... All these guys toting and displaying Glocks in a City (fictional) and State (Real) that goes bat guano crazy if you mention any word that rhymes with Gun.

Think any of the SAMCRO guys have their California CCW Permits?

Considering that they are all convicted felons and are thus Federally barred from gun ownership, I highly doubt any has a permit.

Ahh, the fantasy world that is television.

You're right but I believe "ChattanoogaPhil" answered correctly. Personally, I've lived around, rode with, and consider some of the local OL members friends of mine. I've also gotten to know a few "81ers" from a chapter down east from here as well as several Ols' from other state chapters. Knowing them and calling a few friends doesn't mean that I would have ever considered wearing their cuts though as I do know a little of what truly goes on. I will say this however - having a few friends in these MC's can have a few benefits. "Sons of Anarchy" is a very violent show that has crossed into the realm of complete unrealistic. In reality, martial law would have been instituted and the state's national guard would have been mobilized. Its all a Hollywood attempt to make an almighty dollar in a society that loves it. The lifestyle depicted does have a theme of dread and personally, makes me feel sad for the children of people like Jackson. I also believe it has run its course and the producers should have just ended it last year.

Keep the shiny side up!

One major event in the show two seasons back was not handled the way a major MC would have. Opie's funeral.

Back in the early 1980's we had an MC in PA called "The Seekers".
One of the patched members who was originally from my small western PA hometown died in prison. When they had his funeral and burial procession at the local cemetery over two hundred Seekers showed up on their bikes! Quite a sight. Haven't seen a Seekers patch since the early 1990's.

All the chapters of the SOA should have been in attendance at a beloved member like Opie's funeral. Oh well, the uneducated masses never noticed.

You're so right "steamloco76"! Similarly and with no mention MC names, a very close friend of mine passed away several years ago. He used to belong to a MC that ceased to exist after several members got themselves into deep trouble with the law. When all that took place, he returned to our hometown leaving the "life" behind and other members of the defunct club swore allegiance to other "bigger" clubs. When he died, ALL his former "brothers" arrived for the funeral. Two gave a rather R rated sermon at the funeral home the day of his funeral and covered him with his old cut. At the cemetery, one old member dumped a half of bottle of Jack Daniels in the hole on top of the vault and then chugged down the other half himself. They wouldn't allow anyone other than old club members and family to throw any dirt in the grave so they all grabbed borrowed shovels to do the job which only took them about 15 minutes or so. After the funeral, they all arrived at the post funeral dinner and partied like it was their last. It was a truly remarkable day!!

Is everybody still hanging in till the end? The last episode was a wild one, but all was expected except for Wayne getting caught up in the middle. I hate to see the show end but can't wait to see what happens next week.

I love this show. This is great TV as long as you completely suspend your disbelief and forget all you may know, especially about law enforcement. Otherwise, you get dizzy from shaking your head.
When people ask me how a half-way educated person can watch this stuff, I explain to them it's like "Game of Thrones" for middle-aged guys with beer bellies, except slightly more fantasy, sex and violence, and with motorcycles instead of dragons. They usually get that, although I'm still considered weird. But I'm used to that ever since I put the "Breaking Bad"-theme as the ringtone on my phone.
I hear Kurt Sutter is trying to sell the concept for a prequel set in the 60s. There sure won't be enough characters alive after this season for a sequel

Best TV since 24. All the previous seasons are now on Netflix and I've recorded all the shows for this season. Sometime in the not too distant future I'll do a SOA marathon

Kurt has dramatically reduced the payroll lately.

Obviously a mistake was made and a few copies of the book have been shipped out, which wasn't supposed to happen until the day after the finale. So the ending has been given away. You can see the full story with a quick search of sons of anarchy book. Personally, I didn't read far enough into it to find out what happened in the end and don't want to know until the final episode.

I'm here til the end. I'm glad poor Juice is out of the prison love business at last. Glad to see "Mama" take a walk in the garden.

Maybe we'll get a "Tiggie Lives Venus" spinoff!
