Is all that rain helping with the draught in your state? I was wondering what effect it was having.

I've never heard of deer park but the rain is just as bad here. I work graveyard, and last night my drive just to work (1-way) was 3hrs (normally only about 20 minutes)
I got to my university today, it was about a 20 min walk to class. I didn't even get out of my car. I thought it best to skip the class and just go back home
Edit: just looked up deer park, talk about being on 2 opposite ends of Texes. Still getting a lot of rain though

Deer Park is Houston.
We have some bad rains here---but three days of it after an already rainy September-Moab sounds good.

Deer Park is a small incorporated town fixed between Pasadena on the west and south, LaPorte on the east and the Houston ship channel on the North. It sprang up in the late '30s when Shell Oil and some other refineries popped up along the ship channel. It's about 13 miles SE of Houston. Many of its citizens are employed by or retired from one of these industries. I have lived here for 36 years and retired from Shell in 2001. They'll carry me out of here feet first one day but hopefully not too soon. This is a great place to live.

Y'all hush up!
We've been needing rain and now you're griping 'cause we got a couple of inches?
My yard looks great (ain't no water like rainwater).
My newly planted palm trees are flourishing without the garden hose, and the rain hammering on the patio cover is music to my ears.
I can't believe you guys!

We got a bunch in Cypress today, it was running through my shop 4inches deep in low spots. My rain gauge only goes to. 5 inches and it overflowed in about 15 minutes. I also retired from Shell.

We've had a pretty nice balance here, but could use a little more rain. I think we have some due here Sunday.

What rain?
I'll take all the rain we can get. It hasn't rained here in almost 4 years. Even the cactus are dying. Why I'm so thirsty, I drank next years allotment of beer already!

We have been fortunate to have good rains up here in the panhandle of Texas this year and very thankful for what we have received. Come on up here if you want some dust because after the rains soak in seems like the wind blows the dust again. From Amarillo down to around the Lubbock area you can have all the dust you want.

AWWWW--c'mon guys. I just want one day of sunshine every once in awhile. I didn't sign up for a rain forest.
We have had our drought for a few year-----look, I am human, and, I want what I want when I want it.
Anywho----more rain today, it appears.
Blessings

We got just enough rain the past couple of weeks to bring out the mosquitos. We went all summer almost mosquito free, and now if you go outside, whole squadrons of them attack. I looked out yesterday, and my dog was levitating about a foot off the ground. Darned mosquitos were trying to carry her off. She is not a small dog, she weighs 70 pounds. I like it better when we get three or four inches in a day, and then it doesn't rain for a month.

Send it up here boys! Abilene has been missed all year, just goes around us. We got a nice shower last night, first one in a long time. It was so dry the trees were begging the dogs to drift over and do their business.

It's been much wetter than normal in the Permian Basin the past 2-3 weeks. In the past 24 hours, Monahans and Kermit has had 3-4 inches and more on the way. I have seen this area go for 1-3 years without this much rain.
