The Saints won today, I would think he could be enjoying himself, really enjoying himself.

Patriots won ugly, but they won. Oakland came this close to winning, but Wilfork saved the day. There were no high fives in the locker room after the game.

Was out and didn't get to watch the game, but will later.
But we are now tied for first , any win is a good win.
Watching the Seahawks/Broncos, excellent game.

Guilty as charged of 1st degree Murder and 2nd degree cruelty to a Juvenile. Franklin I was surprised as I thought it would by 2nd Degree Murder (still might be 2nd degree murder on appeal, I tink thee is a good chance of reversal on that issue-very complicated legal argument that I really did not expect ot win in the heat and emotion of the trial but should win on appeal) and 2nd degree cruelty to a juvenile. Not that it makes any difference as both 2nd and 1st degree murder carry a mandatory life without parole. (2nd degree cruslty to a Jucenile carroes uo to 40 years). I pretty much "won" this two years ago when I was able to convince the state to take the death penalty off the table and try this as a first-non capital. The big difference is when down the line when they look at geriatric prisoners who need to be paroled as a cost benefit, he has a tiny-and I mean tiny- chance of getting some sort of clemency with a 2nd degree murder on his jacket as opposed to 1st degree murder where he has an even tinier(read pretty much non existent) chance of clemency. Basically .5% of getting it with 1st and maybe 2% of getting it with second. In any event, it's over except for the formality of sentencing and the filing of the appeal. On to the next one.
Oh and please no "He needs to die" comments-I got enough of that last week
Oh and the Saints game was good as was the Broncos-Seahawks gme (though I wanted the Broncos to win). The Redskins Eagles game was also pretty good. Looks like there are some surprise teams this year-Arizona for example.

Sounds as if you were trying to roll a dead rhino up the face of a cliff. Better you than me.
The Broncos-Seahawks game was terrific--Manning had 24 seconds to score a touchdown and two-point conversion to tie it and send it to overtime, and did it. Classic Manning. I wish the Broncs had won, but it was one hell of an exhibition by both teams.

Around these parts, Classic Manning is when he's done by 3 points with 8 seconds to go and throws an interception to the Patriots defense.
A serious question for Cajun Lawyer. Will you be handling the appeal? Around here very often a different lawyer handles the appeal which gives them room to argue ineffective counsel. I'm just wondering if that's a regional thing or if it's common elsewhere?

Most appeals in our circuit are a combination of every thing that did or could have gone on in the attorney's headlining of the case in question..That almost always included "Insufficient assistance of counsel" Sort of hard to claim insufficient counsel when you are the attorney in question...One public defender however did claim he messed up the case for the defendant.. The Presiding Judge immediately continued the 27.26 hearing and ordered the PD office to assign a new attorney to the case..The attorney in question was ordered into chambers for what I presume was a butt chewing...Now this attorney was sort of known for shananigans in court. His most notable aggravation to the court besides his demeanor was his style of dress. Sandals and no socks, tie just barely on. and other forms not conducive to local court rules..Strange thing was he could be a very good when he was playing the court game. Problem was that was few and far between...He would make motions that put the court in danger for no other reason than to mess with the court...He soon went into private practice and sort of cleaned up his act.....Court could be a very interesting place on occasions. Personally I liked the fugitive detail a lot better than court detail.....When I became the boss I sure made myself a fugitive investigator rather than a court officer...Of course on high risk trials we were all in attendance.....Only had one attempted escape that got real wild for about 15 minutes....Quite a few stitches on both sides...

I have noticed that the counselor did not mention a particular football game that was played on Saturday evening, and I don't blame him a bit.
