This really surprised me!
Lately there aren't too many things that really get my attention.
The recent auction for a 3 inch stainless Python on one of the auction sites for over $40,000 even got me thinking where's it going to end. Guess I should've collected Colts instead of S&W's. No matter how I view it or what angle I approach it I cannot see the justification for that kind of money for a single handgun with no historical Providence other then it's one of 10. If I'm missing something I hope someone can point it out maybe it's just me.

Dave,
I frequent the Colt forum from time to time and it boggles
my mind to see what the snake guns are getting nowadays.
Boas, Anacondas, Pythons, etc...
Crazy money for some of these way over rated pieces.
Tens of thousands of dollars and for what ????
I just don't understand it.
Chuck

I take the liberty to say, that Colt probably won't produce any DA revolvers anymore. Well, I guess to 95.956%... b/c there's still hope somewhere.
Therefore, that's it. What's in the market right now is available. There won't be more. People are willing to pay super premiums just b/c of that fact.
And you know what? I'm happy for them. They can afford it and they got it. Once they are gone, they are gone...

I also post a little over there. I have a nickle 2 1/2" python and sort of tested the waters as to price. I did NOT put it up for sale but inquired what it should go for. I got several "bites" would I take $4,000! Kind of wish I hadnt asked. Now I am hesitant to pack it and at this time dont want to part with it either.
