What do I gain from being gun certified.
I'm looking into my first safety class on hand guns, then rifle and shot gun. These three certs. are needed for a range master type cert. according to classes offered. I would like to take all three classes, just because their offered and i'm interested in knowing them all. I would like to know are their any benefits to having all certs or any certs beside learning safty. Would I be able to become a range master when completed. How do i know if this is a good school?

We have no idea who is offering these certifications. If they are NRA certs, then they are of high quality and recognized nationwide and sometimes beyond. This however doesn't mean that every organization is required to accept them, but it is usually, one of several requirements for a position (even a volunteer position). the club I belong to requires a class in range safety to use our range, You could have been a USMC Range Master, but the class is still required to use our range. That way every body knows the rules and any other little gems that go with our range. Having a certification means: You took a class and are RESPONSIBLE to follow the information therein.

You get out of them what you put into them. If you desire to be a Range Master you can work toward that goal. Being a Range Officer and being able to correctly monitor the safety of other shooters and keep range safety up in a positive and instructive way is sorely needed on many ranges. The question arises, who is teaching these classes? Is it a nationally recognized instructor, such as a NRA Training counselor? If not ask for references, and contact them.
