Default Back To 77

Marvin Lee Aday (Meat Loaf) came out with the Album/CD "Bat Out Of Hell" 37 years ago.

Turn your car radio on and you would hear this great song

I have Bat Out of Hell and Bat Out Of Hell II - Back Into Hell, that is what I have been listening to today.

37 years? MAN I feel OLD!

Anybody notice the excessive lip licking, fidgeting, face touching, etc.? Stimulants, maybe?

On second thought, one of the signs is "No interest in food," so maybe not.

Thanks Labworm, good choice. Bat out of hell, love by the dashboard lights 2 of my favorites.

When My son was about 16 he got in my truck to go somewhere with me. He started digging in the console and pulled out Bat Out of Hell. He looked at me and asked, do you listen to this, I said yes. He goes Oh shoot, I'll now have to find me a new favorite band. Evidently he thought Dad was too old to like this...

Now we are waiting for the end of time. I was at the tail end of my marriage. Made sense to me.

My best Surf Casting and Trout Fishing Pal Kenny died at the age of 55.

This tune from "Bat Out Of Hell II - Back Into Hell" is sort of special and I really like it.

"Paradise By The Dashboard Light" is a great song. Almost operatic, and funny as hell. That whole album is a true classic.

My wife said "Paradise By The Dashboard Light" must of been written about us. I kind of wondered about what she meant but was afraid to ask for clarification!!

I had the Bat Out Of Hell 8Track tape and liked it a lot. I was a kid, and played it on my portable radio that had an 8 track player. Also played it in my boat, as I could operate the boat before I had my driver's license.

Years later, Meatloaf played at my college auditorium. I worked security at the show (free tickets...), and was in front of the stage. Meatloaf was definitely an intense guy. Had to stop a couple of drunk stage crashers; threw them right out the side door, down the steps...

I can still picture Meatloaf's backup singers in their tight leather mini-skirts. I dubbed them the "Loaf-ettes."

As a proud (and somewhat lucky) graduate of the h s class of '77, I never really got the whole "meatloaf" craze. But the young ladies sure did love him. So by default, he got plenty of playtime in my '73 Nova SS!

I actually saw him a few years back during the height of his revival. The chicks still loved him (as evidenced by the female undies that were thrown on stage) and I still don't quite get it. His music always seemed a bit soulless to me.

Some like smooth peanut butter, some like crunchy.

Soul, many definitions: the emotional part of human nature; the seat of the feelings or sentiments. I think he had it.

Based on the millions of copies of that Bat Out of Hell album floating around, it was pretty clearly a successful album no matter who likes it.

Redlevel is more than likely a Beiber fan. Sorry but I still love Bat out of Hell and most of his music. Never got to see him in person really would like to. Great music to travel over I-40 in North Carolina from Tennessee. Still upsets my wife also but still some of the greatest music.
