That I have. A not too well-known fact about her is--she first got married at the age of 15. I love her music too. The movie: Rio Grande--had a few of her tunes in it. One--My Gal is Purple--and the other I can think of off hand--is: Ah ha--San Antone.
It sure is a shame they are all gone.
BTW--an unrelated kinda) bit--one of Gene Autrys Nephews worked for my Dad when he had a contracting business. This guy looked like a taller more muscular version of Gene.

That was going to be my choice. I still like it and on occasion I will put it in as a request on my fav. Classical station when they have all request Friday which is the last Friday of every month.

I see that same thing in a lot of the older westerns. Always has bugged me.
Sorry for interrupting the music. Carry on.

Rio Bravo had a nice duet with Ricky Nelson and Dean Martin. Also the reoccurring "Away, away, come away with me" in How the West was Won, sung by Debbie Reynolds.

You called it, they were .45-70s. I read once that the producers wanted something that showed up good, so they loaded his belt with .45-70s. The original cut down Winchester got the show in trouble with the ATF. They had forgotten to register it as a "short barreled rifle" and pay the tax.
As for music, the scene in The Magnificent Seven where they are tossed their guns and told "Adios!"...the music in that scene has always given me chills. I saw it in the theater with my parents when it was released. I know it's a remake of "The Seven Samurai", but it's my favorite western of all time.
