Y'all please excuse my recent scarcity.
The day after I got back from the beach I started to notice the beginnings of a cough and a sore throat. Within 24 hours it went to a full blown head and respiratory cold/flu/whatever
been livin' the last few days on Dayquill and Nyquill. My symptoms are minimized but I now have what I call "medicine head". which I hate almost as bad as the symptoms.
I've had this many times in the past but this time the assortment of symptoms include an extreme weakness and lack of energy. Not sleepy just no git-up-and-go.
And to further aggravate the deal I just spent 4 1/2 hours putting a 6' tall book shelf together. Haven't done anything like that for a long time and this was a lesson relearned. The directions are not in any language. There is not one word. It's all pictures and they are small and in poor detail.
That's a new one on me. I'm used to tab A not fitting into slot B and having to re-drill screw holes etc but I have always had printed words even if they were printed by some retarded convict in Outer Mongolia.
I mean it. Even the parts list was pics of each part and out to the right it said how many there were supposed to be. Miss Pam's creative picture interpretation saved my bacon on this'n!
These cold/flu bouts usually go 2 to 3 weeks on me. We'll have to see how this one goes. I'll try to regain my sparkling personality and resume my normal frequency as I can shake these meds. Now I gotta go lay down!

Could have been worse, least you survived the beach trip! Get well soon.
By any chance did you get a flu shot recently?

I know what you mean about those idiot instructions with pictures only. A month or so ago I put together one of those things that has the cubbies that you slide baskets in. I gave up on the pictures, spread out all the pieces, had a glass of wine while contemplating the pieces then just put it together. Much less stress .

I have almost the same thing. Started with a sore throat, next day head cold and the same lack of energy. Over the worst of it, just have minor head congestion.

I recently got my flu shot as well as a pneumonia shot; same day, same arm. That doesn't usually bother me, but this time it left me with a sore stiff shoulder for a couple of days. The reason I mention it is, you said you felt unusually listless and tired out.
That was the only sign I had, along with a "dry, unproductive cough". That happened to me about ten years ago. As soon as I mentioned the cough, the doc ordered a chest x-ray, and sure enough, pneumonia. It must not have been one of the worst varieties, because I was up and walking, but it sure left me feeling worn out. Not an experience I would care to repeat.

Hope you feel better soon.
I can sympathize with you on the bad "directions" having been a mover, at least we had the families telling us about how it looked.

Get better soon, Jack.
I've just come off of ten days of bronchitis. Any upper respiratory infection just automatically dives straight into my chest. I know what you mean about the weakness and lethargy. But I finally crawled out the other side of this bout, and hope I you will soon.

I had double pneuonia when i was 17--spent 8 days in the hospital with oxygen tubes up my nose--IVs for each arm,a whole slew of pills and other meds every hour on the hour (1st 2 days)
This time-I have what Jackhas-hae had it now 3 weeks. It started with a sore shoulder-nek pain and I KNEW--iI got was stating to go round. A day or so after--severesore throwat--lostmy voice completely for 10 days. Day before the Sat gun show--where I met to great gents from thsi site at--I finally started getting voie back--but had severe sinus drainage--making it look like I wasjust getting sick again. Im STILL having suius drainage--one ear feels likeI have an ear muff on it-cant hear moch. Still dry cough--slightly runny nose.I HATE--these that take 3-4 weeks to get completely over.

You need sleep Walkin' Jack and the more the better. You say you're not sleepy and that's fine. Just try to sleep as long as you can without distractions when you do sleep.
