A Man And His Dremel Tool??
I saw this link on another forum. This kind of work makes you wonder...
Just think: You and your Dremel tool could be responsible for this caliber of work!

Why spend hours.....
Why spend hours mangling a gun with a hand tool, when a good machine shop could knock it out in about an hour.

That is a Freedom Arms BFR probably .45/70 Govt caliber. Its about a $2500-3000 gun.
I guess if you're gonna get stupid, you might as well go big.

It appears to be some sort of electronic optic. I couldn't say what.
I noticed in the last picture that the gun appears to laying on the counter of a gun or pawn shop. I'm betting they got it cheap and probably laughed their tails off when Bubba left the store.

Long ago when I was a practicing gunsmith I had a customer that had me correct a job he did with his Dremel Tool. I corrected it. A few weeks later he brought in a second pistol with a correction needed after his Dremel Tool work. I corrected it. Another couple of months went by and he was back with the third pistol with a problem that he had created with his Dremel Tool. I looked at it and said I will fix it if you will pay my price. He said, "Well, I have before." I said, "My price is your Dremel Tool and the assurances that you will not purchase another." He sort of blinked and then agreed. I still have that Dremel Tool today. :-) ................... Big Cholla

At first I was amused, just a ruined Blackhawk new barrel no big deal , then I saw the rest of the gun. Freedom Arms OMG. We all learn, but not on this price line.

The more I look at it...
The more I look at it the worse it looks. I would buy that and have the barrel sawed off and recrowned. it's already almost sawed through with the dremel anyway. Looks like Bubba made the last 2" of barrel useless.

Wow. I looked at that and thought " NO. No way would me and my Dremel even attempt that." Obviously there are others out there that have no reservations about taking a Dremel to anything. Bubba indeed.

The gun world should be thankful that he doesn't have access to a milling machine. I still say it would be extremely interesting to see it fired at night.
I bet he drives a super jacked up 4x4 that knocks the U joints out every 1000 miles.

The gun is a Magnum Research Ind. BFR in .444 Marlin, .45-70, or 450 Marlin. Still an $1100 gun. I've posted this pic a while back. It has a 10" barrel in .45-70. Would I need 2 or 3 more ports with the longer barrel to get whatever that look is ?

Well, that look is the famous I B Moron look. If want to have a classier I B Moron look you could sent it to me. I would start making the "slots" by the end of the ejector housing and space them out evenly to the muzzle. I would use a 3/16" ball end mill and keep the depth uniform at 1/2 the depth of the barrel and evenly spaced. Be a much nicer I B Moron "job" of destroying the barrel. Removing the front sight will be extra. I would of course test fire it for you and record the results. The visual effects the fire shooting out the top of the slots would be amazing. Accuracy wouldn't matter as that thing would scare things to death.

BFR = Bubba's Famous Refinishing
The scope mount is for watching the magnificent trio of muzzle blasts up close and personal.

There sure isn't going to be any muzzle flip with that gun.
If anything, there will be enough downward forces to pivot that thing and smack yourself where it will really hurt.
