Default Winter Solstice

Well it is here, Winter Solstice (northern hemisphere), least daylight of the year!
Things only get lighter from here!

*To the Southern Hemisphere, best of luck in the coming darkness! ; (

I've heard you can balance eggs on their end and make brooms stand on their straw.

Yea!!! Only 2 more months and I'll have direct sunlight back! Living on a north facing mountain side has its disadvantage of sunlight but an advantage when looking at the northern lights.

Let's hear it for lengthening daylight. Usually I don't mind winter, despite being at the age when I feel the cold right to my core. But this one is rough in other ways, and I'm glad to see it start to turn around.

We had a rough winter last year. It seemed like it would never end. Now it's time for the next one.

Just put on your aluminum hat and sit in the corner.
It'll be okay! The sun will return.

The true end of the year, and the birth of the next.

I hate the short days during the winter. It's full dark by 5:00PM where I live.

I just hate it.

I moved from NJ to Atlanta. The winters here are easier than the Summers.

I know a little late, but I was thinking that Summer and Hurricane season are now coming. Living on the gulf coast has taught me to plan ahead.
