The Interview - Your Reviews
This is not a political discussion. Purely entertainment. Right!
If you don't already know it, the movie "The Interview" became available to wide audiences on YouTube at 00:01 hrs Christmas morning. The price is $5.99 to view and $12.99 to own.
Looks like the Eternal President has lost this battle. The next skirmish may happen if and when it filters into North Korea.
It seemed to me that seeing the movie was an insult to Kim Jong-un. You might disagree however.
It is a B minus movie at best. I lost patience with it a few times, stopped, and came back latter. The only scenes where I laughed were the ones in the North Korean control room during the fight scenes. Bloody but still hilarious.
And I got a kick out of the shoot out scene with the cute handler shooting a machine gun through the doors. The rest of the movie I would describe as awkward and lame.
I'd be curious to hear what others thought about it.

Haven't and won't be seeing this waste of time. From the beginning it looked to be a "Tax Loss". I would accuse Sony of staging the hack as a publicity stunt, if the FBI hadn't said it was real. A fitful nap on a humid afternoon is far more appealing than watching this movie. I am no fan of N. Korea, but their PR people would have made style points, if they would have said, "This is why we don't allow our people to see Hollywood movies!"

I laughed at one scene in the trailer. I don't think the entire movie will be that good. IMHO, a fiasco from inception.
I may watch it some late night at some point when there's nothing else on and it's FREE.

When I can rent it for cheap, maybe.
It really doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.
The hullabaloo probably in the long run greatly helped this movie make money.

I might take a peak at it when it is free, spending anything to see it, no way.

Sorry, MrTrolleyGuy, like all the other posters I haven't seen it either -- but that doesn't prevent me from responding to your request for opinions about the movie.
One of our local theaters here was selected to show it. Much as I would like to make a patriotic statement by going to see the thing and daring North Korea to try to extinguish me right there in my theater seat, I think I'll just take a nice walk today instead.
Kim Jong-Un, when you get a real name, then we can talk.

I know the Wall Street Journal said it's horrible. Once again government intervention (North Korea this time) is propping up a business that would have quickly failed on its own. (JOKE)

First let me say that I haven't seen this movie. I don't plan on seeing this movie. From the trailers I've seen it doesn't appeal to me.
Now having said that let me say this: all the criticism of this movie seems to come from those who haven't seen the movie. Please don't take this wrong and if you stopped reading at the last period you're going to miss my point. Several, no, many years ago there was a lot of criticism of the movie Jesus Christ Superstar on religious grounds by a lot of people who hadn't seen and stated they wouldn't see the movie. I saw the movie and found it to my liking. I had no objections to the story and was raised Catholic. Some years later there was a movie about the passion of Christ. Again a lot of criticism by people who hadn't seen the movie. This is the sort of behavior I would expect from closed minds. I try to keep an open mind about things and only criticize after I have gotten what facts are available to me. That's what my Dad taught me to do and that's what the good Brothers of Mary taught me to do.
I also believe that everyone is free to have an opinion and to express it. I just did.
Rant over and Mods if this is not proper please delete it.

I rented it via Google Play and watched it last night with my 80 year-old father. We both enjoyed it. Is it a film for the ages? No, but if you enjoy Franco and Rogen's style of humor, it's worth watching. Randall Park, who plays Kim Jong-un is pretty hilarious.

I'd give it two out of four stars - no better, no worse. Kinda felt obligated to see it after being threatened by NK hackers - my little contribution to a big American finger in their eye.

Too late - They already have and watch (over & over) all of the Hanoi Jane flicks....
We could send her over to entertain the troops.
Hey - It's not my fault if they won't let her back into the USA.

I liked it. I like Seth Rogen, and probably enjoyed James Franco even more. I'll just say when it comes to their style of humor, the awkward scenes you speak of are probably what I enjoy the most. I am a lot younger than most forum members, based on the recent poll conducted.
The movie was indeed stupid. I can understand the members saying they have no interest in seeing it. I however found it very enjoyable. I knew the movie was going to be stupid going into it.
I will also say that having these 2 actors, I would have definitely seen this movie, despite all the publicity it received.

I must differ. It's a Seth Rogen movie. That's enough of a red flag (no pun intended) for me. That's like saying it's a Rob Schneider flick. I won't be wasting my time.
