Going to be in Goodyear, AZ for the month of January. Are there any 'must visit' LGS in the general vicinity?

Not sure abt. LGS, but you might want to stop by at ASA.

American Spirit Arms - Precision Firearms - AR15, M16 Rifle, M4 Carbine

They are always happy to see new folks and have plenty of items in the showroom. Incl. blemished parts (good discount) sometimes.

Other that that you might want to get some dinner at Houston's in Scottsdale.

There is an auction company just East of Goodyear in Avondale that has firearms auctions just about every Tuesday night. I'll see if I can come up with the name for you. Pot of Gold maybe?
